MR. POPPLER MAY COME AGAIN.
A year ago Mr. Poppler, head of the Poppler Piano
Company, Grand Forks, N. D., sent his friends in
Chicago a New Year's card as herewith reproduced
and now he writes that the card used last year will
T is our sincere wish that our
friends and patrons have a
prosperous year during 1932.
And, with an entirely new line of
Jesse French Grands soon to be
placed on the market we hope that
we may be able to contribute sub-
stantially to their prosperity.
Cordially,

answer for one this year, so that sometime dur-
ing this month lie may be expected as a Chicago
visitor.
That Mr. Poppler is not only an artist in black
and white is shown by his own sketch drawn by him-
self herewith shown.
An appropriate but unusual monument is found in
the center of Highgate Cemetery, England. It marks
the grave of A. J. Thornton, a talented pianist who
died just as his talent was gaining him fame and
fortune, not only in England but on the Continent
as well. This artistic memorial, believed to be the
only one of its kind in existence, is a marble replica
of a grand piano and is carved to the exact measure-
ments of the piano on which Mr. Thornton practiced
for his public appearances and on which he composed
several musical works. The fallboard is open and
just above the keys the name Thornton is inscribed,
while just above it rests a bas-relief of the deceased
seated at the keyboard of the piano.
Did you know that it is lots of fun swapping items
that have laid on your storage shelves for a long
time, for items that some other dealer has that you
can use? A classified ad in the PRESTO-TIMES
swap section will surely bring you a list of inquiries
that will enable you to switch your stock around so
that it always looks new.
ANOTHER INTERESTING MUSIC TRADE PHOTOGRAPH FROM MEXICO
Evidently Mexican views which have ap-
peared in Presto-Times for the last three or
four months have been found interesting and
apparently one picture leads to another. At any
rate, we have received a photograph, with a
suggestion to reproduce same, showing a view
in the patio of the Wagner & Levien Music
Store at Mexico City, where an upright piano
was ready to be delivered. This picture, as our
correspondent says, was evidently taken a long
time ago, but nevertheless is indicative of
Wagner & Levien activities in their impor-
tant agency of the Steinway piano through-
out the republic of Mexico. The photograph
is certainly interesting.
