STRENGTH OF SCHILLER
IN THE SALES FIELD
The Background
Merits of Tone and Construction of Product of the Schiller Piano Company,
Oregon, 111., and Soundness of the Company's Dealer
Plan Convincing to Trade
A BUSY ROLL
DEPARTMENT
Real, undeniable piano quality and vigorous sales
work of makers and representatives are the potent
reasons for the enviable position of the Schiller piano
in the trade today. A cheerful report this week of
the Schiller Piano Company, Oregon, 111., conveys
the proof of the merits of Schiller instruments and
the soundness of the Schiller Dealer Plan for achiev-
ing sales results. Every report from the Schiller
Piano Company involves the stories of individual
activities from the president, Edgar B. Jones, down
to the youngest office boy, travelers, dealers and
their salesmen. It is cooperation of the earnest kind
that is bringing quick and sure rewards in desirable
sales and dealer connections throughout the country.
Schiller Sells Always
The Schiller traveling representatives recognize no
closed season for piano sales because they find by
experience that the appeal of a remarkable piano like
the Schiller is an all-the-year-round one. "Every day
is the best day to talk Schiller" is the way that Frank
M. Hood, sales manager, expressed a belief held by
every traveler and retail representative. It is a feeling
of confidence based on the assurance of undoubted
merit in the Schiller piano.
Piano Worth Wins.
The persistency and ability of the Schiller travelers
backed by the evidences of actual worth in the piano
has placed the Schiller prominently in the line of
representative music houses throughout the country,
and with many prominent houses as their leader.
In a recent tour of the Middle West, President
Jones found the Schiller piano so satisfactorily placed
at almost every point visited that its success is cer-
ta ; n. In Cleveland, Detroit, St. Louis, Omaha and
other important cities the representatives of the Schil-
ler has already become an element of great strength
to its fortunate possessors.
Some Visitors.
Among the representatives of prominent music
houses visiting the Schiller Piano Company recently
DISTINCTIVE

were J. A. Popplcr of the Poppler Music House,
Grand Forks, N. D ; Will Mickel of the Mickel Bros.
Co., Omaha, Neb.; Worley and Ermel Benedict of
the Benedict Piano Company, Shenandoah, la. Mr.
Mickel showed a new set of photographs of inte-
riors of prominent Nebraska homes in which he has
placed Schillers. All these are enthusiastic dealers
who appreciate the alrlity of the Schiller to sustain
their reputation for selling pianos of high musical
quality and artistic construction.
Active Schiller Dealer.
Another of the active proponents of the Schiller
piano is Lehman & Sons, St. Louis, and the extent
of its successes in sales of the Schiller was enthusi-
astically told last week by Al Lehman, head of the
firm, while making a call at the factory at Oregon.
Mr. Lehman had motored up from St. Louis, a mode
of travel favored by him.
"The Schiller is a highly desirable piano for a
class of trade we are busy in expanding—the kind
that wants a fine piano and are competent to distin-
guish the merits that make the Schiller distinctive,"
sad Mr. Lehman.
The Schiller plant at Oregon is one of the most
encouraging sights for the piano dealer. There is
the convincing evidence of actual business on every
floor of the factory. There is no day without orders;
every mail contributes to the file of orders, some of
which are for special models. It is the palpable
reward of vision in seeing the opportunities. That
the opportunities for the fine piano exist in a satis-
factory way is a fact borne out by the cheering letters
of Schiller dealers and the roadmen of the Schiller
Piano Company.
CYRIL L FARNY RETURNS
Cyril L. Farny of the Wurlitzer Grand Piano Com-
pany, De Kalb, has been back to his desk a week or
ten days from a three weeks' trip to Mexico which
he, accompanied by Mrs. Farny, made. They were
at Vera Cruz a few days after the outbreak of the
present revolution and saw considerable skirmishing
and some gun fighting in and about Vera Cruz. In
the city they were held up for nearly a week unable
to leave there for Mexico City. On the way to
Mexico City, passing through some of the fighting
lands, they experienced more or less of the troubled
conditions of the country, etc., etc. They enjoyed
Mexico and the South very much, but felt a little
relieved after getting away from the firing lines sec-
tions. Mr. Farny is now at his home at De Kalb.
HARRY WUNDERLICH TRAVELS.
Harry Wunderlicli, popular piano man and equally
popular traveling representative for the Schiller Piano
Company, is at present making a Southern trip. He
has been visiting the Texas trade this week with
success in the matter of orders and new business
connections made.
