A. Scholes of London, eminent musician, who heard
the national high school orchestra play at the music
supervisors' convention in Chicago last summer.
Consequently, an orchestra of 150 pieces, the mem-
bers of which will represent almost as many high
schools in the United States, will visit Europe next
summer.
The organization will be assembled and plans per-
j fected by Joseph E. Maddy of the University of
Michigan School of Music, Ann Arbor, chairman of
the instrumental affairs committee of the Music
Supervisors' National Conference.

SCHAAF PIANOS SATISFY.
Adam Schaaf, Inc., is producing some of the finest
grands these days that were ever put out by that
enterprising Chicago piano factory. Under the effi-
cient management of Harry Schaaf, the company,
never content with present attainments, is pushing on-
ward and upward. Mr. Schaaf realizes that what
customers want today is quality, and in this sense he
is equipped by experience and factory facilities to
meet this particular demand. No matter how par-
ticular the customer may be, he can find in the Adam
Schaaf instruments something to realize his ideals
of what a good and musical instrument ought to be.
PRAISES STRAUBE "SONATA."
James Cherry of Canton, Ohio, recently wrote to
the Straube Piano Co., Hammond, Ind., as follows:
"The Sonata grand came to hand O. K. I am very
much pleased with it in every respect. Best grand
[ have had or seen of that size. You may send me
another like it at your earliest opportunity." Read-
ing and hearing so much about the activity of
the Sonata model with other well known merchants,
Mr. Cherry had decided to try one. The above ex-
presses the result.
