Quite an extensive course in music and music

department of music. Orchestra, band, chorus, glee
club, theoretical subjects and instrumental music are

in the department.

violin and piano, all two-year courses.
DO THEIR OWN TUNING.
An Associated Press item says that persons own-
ing pianos, violins and other stringed instrument?
may now check their tuning by radio.
Every night at 8 o'clock the sharp and resonant
pitch of "A" at 440 cycles is sounded from station
KEX of Portland, Ore. Three distinct beats are
given with time between for the listener to strike
the "A" key on the piano to ascertain if it is true
and similarly test other instruments.
This service is considered particularly helpful to
mountaineers and other persons in isolated districts.
