"SQUALL" OPENS IN CHICAGO
Famous Drama Begins Engagement a t Adelphi The-
ater on Christmas Night.
One of the most important of the Christmas at-
tractions promised to Chicago theatergoers is "The
Squall," the cyclonic success that has been raging
for more than a year at the 48th Street Theater in
New York. This famous drama will open an en-
gagement at the Adelphi Theater, Chicago, on Christ-
mas night. Special matinees will be given on Mon-
day, December 26th, and Monday, January 1. A
gala New Year's Eve performance will be given on
Saturday, December 31.
Both from the standpoint of a well written drama
and good acting, "The Squall" merits every bit of the
tremendous success that it is having. It has color,
life, emotion. It vibrates with action from beginning
to end. Fierce gales of passion sway the characters,
one and all. Love is presented in a variety of forms;
mother-love, sex love, romantic love and the love
of a wife for her husband of twenty years.
Blanche Yurka is the star of "The Squall," and as
the patient, courageous mother in a Spanish house-
hold she gives a performance that was hailed by the

The achievement of
CONN TONE
is a notable triumph of the
company. It is the admirable
quality t h a t distinguishes
every Conn band and orchestra
instrument from all other
products of the kind. It is the
result of continuous improve-
ment in scientific manufactur-
ing processes. In Conn models
all taper branches are shaped
to exact dimensions by the
famous hydraulic expansion
process, developed and used
only in the Conn factories.
Conn methods conduce to
easier playing and perfect tune
which are potential factors in

CLARK XYLOPHONE ROLLS
Marked Success Rewards the Specially Recorded
Music for Xylophone Equipped Automatic Pianos.
Among the marked successes in the Clark orches-
tra rolls, made by the Clark Orchestra Roll Co., De
Kalb, 111., are the xylophone rolls specially recorded
for the player-pianos having xylophone attachments.
They are recent introductions by the company and
have evoked widespread appreciation from the trade.
"The xylophone adds a snap and dash to the auto-
matic piano music not attained in any other way,"
says the company. "Dealers and owners who have
tried these special rolls declare they are exceedingly
popular with their patrons.
"The production and recording of Clark orchestra
rolls for the xylophone call for intelligent handling,
and because of the skill that is used in their manu-
facture you will find the music marked with a star
in the bulletins the best that can be obtained for your
player."
AIDS U. S. CENSUS IN RADIO CENSUS.
Preparing for the next biennial census of American
manufacturing, which will cover the year 1927, the
United States Department of Commerce, through the
Bureau of the Census, has enlisted the aid of the
Radio Manufacturers' Association. "We feel that it
is highly important to have the cooperation of man-
ufacturers' associations and particularly the coopera-
tion of one which represents an industry that is com-
paratively new and growing so rapidly," said the
