The National Association of Piano Travelers,
which is affiliated with the National Council of
Traveling Men's Associations, is ably representing
the music industry in an effort to have Congress
abolish, at the coming session, an unnecessary and
unjustifiable expense to all who travel on railroads.
It will be remembered that the bill to abolish the
Pul'man surcharge, which adds 50 per cent to the
pre-war cost of a Pullman sleeping berth or chair
car service, was favorably reported to Congress and
only the fi'ibuster at the end of the session prevented
a favorable vote which would have removed this
unjustifiable expense to those who travel.
