TINA LERNER TO RECORD
EXCLUSIVELY FOR AMPICO
The Straube Piano Company, Hammond, Ind., has
mailed the following letter to dealers:
"I didn't think it could be done—but you certainly Pianist of Brilliancy and Wonderful Technique
have proved it."

Sonata Grand sums up the impressions of hundreds record her playing exclusively for the Ampico is
of dealers who visited the Straube exhibit.
It was hard to believe all that we sad about the another piece of good news for Ampico dealers and
tone qualty and volume of this, the world's smallest
full scale grand. But actually hearing the instrument
gave the dealers a new conception of small grand
possibilities.
"This gives us a real grand in a size many people
have been waiting for." "Nothing to apologize for
in this tone, surely." "It's a little beauty." These
and similar expressions told us we were right in
predicting an enthusaistic reception for the Sonata.
Not only the tone, but the graceful appearance and
the superb craftsmanship aroused the dealers' ad-
miration. The laminated post construction and the
built-up key bed drew especial attention.
If you were not at the convention and did not have
W. H. Collins, W i l l " to his many friends in the
music trade, has severed connections with the J. P.
Seeburg Piano Co., with which house he has been
associated since leaving the piano department of
Lyon & Healy, some years ago.
Mr. Collins has not as yet made any arrangement
for the future nor probably will not think much about
business or business connections for the next few
weeks while he is enjoying a vacation in the wilds
of Wisconsin.
Presto-Times does not presume to know what his
inclinations are as to his future in the music business,
but it is presumed that he will keep close to the
regular piano business, which has long been the
phase of the music trade to which he has devoted his
best efforts.

owners, and another name of the first rank in the
pianistic world is added to the already imposing list,
still further advancing Ampico supremacy in the
number and distinction of its artists.
Miss Lerner has long had a place amongst the
greatest women pianists of all time. The brilliancy
of her technique is remarkable. To this technique
she brings the intelligence of the poet and thinker
that marks the supreme artist. Miss Lerner's first
Ampico recordings will be released in an early
bulletin.
