NEW FORESTRY HANDBOOK.
The increasing importance of the study of the for-

schools is recognized by the Forest Service, United

Ingenious Letter Form Used by Perfection Furniture
Company Aids Materially in Publicity.
Every letter sent out by the Perfection Furniture
Company, 1514-1518 Blue Island avenue, Chicago, is
practical publicity for the admirable line of piano
benches and cabinets manufactured by the company.
This is accomplished by the use of a four-page letter
form. The first is used for correspondence in the
ordinary way, but the remaining pages contain fine
halftones of the commodities distinguished by the
name "Perfection."
Twenty-three piano benches and three cabinets of
tasteful design are shown and with the model name,
dimensions, description, variety of finish and price,
the pictures facilitate choice and make sales more
numerous for the Perfection Furniture Co. The odd
form of letterhead is one of the ingenious ideas of
President F. C. Smith.
The line of Perfection benches was shown at the
recent exhibit of music goods at the Stevens Hotel,
Chicago, in connection with the annual convention
of the music trades, and its diversity of design, taste
in line and beauty of finish made the display of the
Perfection Furniture Company one of the highly at-
tractive ones in the headquarters hotel.
VENEER LOGS SCARCE.
Veneer manufacturers at Evansville, Ind., and other
towns in southern Indiana report that logs continue
scarce and quite high. With the improvement in
the weather, it is expected that logs will start coming
in more liberally. Veneer manufacturers say trade
is looking better and that with the improvement in
the furniture trade, which is looked for after the
mid-summer markets in Chicago and Grand Rapids,
it is believed there will be marked improvement in
the veneer business.
