THE FAIRBANKS PIANO SCALE
Product of the Fairbanks Co., Springfield, O., Pos-
sesses Qualities Required in Fine Instruments.
The importance of the piano plate is acknowledged
by every manufacturer of pianos. The good plate
provides basic dependence for imparting the character
of rigidity in the construction of the instrument. In
the American piano industry the piano plates made
by the Fairbanks Company, Springfield, Ohio, are
considered a potent means towards attaining the char-
acter of sturdiness and durability for pianos. It is a
selection prompted by distinctive qualities in the
Fairbanks plates which manufacturers believe to be
essential to the production of high-class pianos.
Fairbanks piano plates are particularly desirable
because they conform to the requirements of the
exacting- piano manufacturer and are made from the
finest materials by the most skillful workmen. It is
admitted by dealers, piano makers and piano owners
of a discriminating kind that a Fairbanks plate in a
piano is a prime factor in dependable construction.
A GOOD SUGGESTION.
The American Piano Supply Co., Inc., of New
York, has a forceful "sticker" which is attached to
outgoing correspondence. It is printed in colors,
with a grand piano in relief and these words con-
spicuous, all within a broad border: "Please don't
wait until the last moment to order your needs. Fore-
see, and secure better service and merchandise. What
do you need?" It's a good suggestion well placed.
Experts at the U. S. Forest Products Laboratory,
Madison, Wis., say no tree produces lumber that is
entirely free from defects and blemishes. The same
irregularities in the wood, natural and accidental, are
likely to grow in any species.
