IMPORTANCE OF AD. COPY
the real purpose of copy. To them making copy is
an opportunity to print words to fill the prescribed
space, instead of words 'that force action on mankind.
The appropriation is an important thing, but the
copy, the talk, the point of view, may be bracketed
with it. Copy, for instance, comes before pictorial
accessories, fancy type and typographical ginger-
bread. It is not fine writing or funny writing that
is required in the music goods ad but clean-cut, con-
vincing words. Copy can talk to all the people in an
understandable way; be pleasantly phrased in the best
English.
