The First Presbyterian Church of Grand Forks.
N. D., recently purchased a Style H Baldwin Grand
for the beautiful auditorium of this house of worship,
shown in the accompanying cut. Dr. F. Halsey
Ambrose, the popular and energetic pastor, purchased
at the same time a Style 315 Ellington for his home.
The church has a membership of over 1,400 or
better than one-sixth of all families in the city, rank-
ing as the largest church between Minneapolis and
the Coast, and is one of the few debt-free churches
with a substantial surplus in its treasury.

E. A. Jarrett, an expert on violins, has been made

of the Conn Atlanta Co., Atlanta, Ga. Besides his
fame as a violin maker, Mr. Jarrett is noted for his
great heighth of six feet five inches. In addition to
his duties in the repair department he will pass upon
every violin sold by" the company, an assurance of

OPENS AT HENNESSY, OKLA.
The Jones Music Company, Hennessy, Okla., com-
posed of Chas. L. Jones and Frank Short, has opened
a first-class music store in the Jones building on
North Main street. The stock in quantity and qual-
ity is presented as worthv of the attention of music
buyers.
CONTEST IN SAN FRANCISCO.
Thirty-six boys and girls took part in the first .test&
in the piano playing tournament promoted by the
Music Trades Association of Northern California and
held recently in the Guaranteed Pianoforte System
School, 3559 Mission street. Chester W. Rosekrans,
executive secretary of the San Francisco Music Week
Organization, presided. Elimination contests will be
held every week.
MOVES IN AKRON, OHIO.
The Stowe Piano Co., Akron, Ohio, has moved into
its new building at 283 South Main street. The com-
pany, under the management of Margaret McGarry
Stowe, recently purchased the piano stock of the
George S. Dales Co. The company is doing some
strong advertising and making well known 'the slo-
gan. "Better Music Makes Better Children."
