Organizations in. Many Places Suggest
Opportunities for Energetic Dealers.
A brass band has been organized at Waynesfield,
Ohio, and it is expected it will number about twenty
pieces.
At the regular meeting of the Odd Fellows, Lin-
coln, 111., last week, it was decided to organize an
orchestra.
Chester E. Barnett, Cairo, 111., has reorganized the
orchestra under the name of the "Eighth Street Mel-
ody Boys of Cairo, 111."
A high school orchestra has been organized in
Cynthiana, Ind, with Arving Ewing as leader.
The Board of Directors of the Maysville Band,
Maysville, Ky., is completing arrangements for the
campaign to raise funds for the band, and a system-
atic canvas of the entire city is planned.
A community band is to be organized at Red Bud,
111. Dr. Schuchert, who recently moved there from
Cape Girardeaux, is in charge of the arrangements.
Miss Chamness, supervisor of music in the Nobles-
ville, Ind., schools, will organize a Noblesville School
Boys' Band.
A school band of forty pieces is being organized in
North Manchester, Ind.
Sheffield, 111., boys have organized a band under
the direction of Forrest Richardson.
A high school orchestral band has been organized
in the Princeville, 111., public schools, under the direc-
tion of Elmer A. Arons of Bradley Conservatory of
Music.
LA PORTE PHONOGRAPHS.
The Davis Phonograph Shop, La Porte, Ind., has a
repair department which has been operated by Mr.
Davis, the owner, for over twenty-five years. From
repairing the shop has developed into manufacturing.
His phonograph model, the "Classic," has had a big
sale in the Indiana city and continues an excellent
seller. Mr. Davis specializes in portable phonographs.
He builds this instrument without an elaborate cabi-
net, and also makes consoles, uprights and table ma-
chines.
