Next Meeting on September 14th, When There Will
Be Something Special Doing.
The committee of the Piano Club of Chicago ap-
pointed to select a ticket of officers for the ensuing
year has reported results as follows:

The extract from by-laws of Piano Club of Chi-
cago by which the nominations are made is as fol-
lows: (Article IV, Section 3) "The board of gov-
ernors shall, at least sixty days prior to each annual
meeting, appoint from the club at large a nominating
committee of five. This committee shall nominate,
at least thirty days before the annual meeting, a ticket
of candidates for the offices whose terms expire at
the coming annual meeting, and shall mail a copy of
such ticket to every member in good standing at least
thirty days before said meeting. The secretary shall
record the names of any other candidates received on
the petition of ten members in good standing at least
ten days before the annual meeting, and shall mail
immediately a copy of such ticket to every member
in good standing."
The president of the club has called the annual
meeting for Wednesday, October 7th. There was
no meeting of the club Monday noon, September 7th,
which was Labor Day. Next noonday meeting will be
Monday, September 14th. On this date a regular
fall meeting will take place and there will be as a
guest a nationally-known speaker.
BUYS INDIANA STORE.
Cecil Burton, of Columbus, lnd., and Floyd Conn,
of Newcastle, lnd.. have purchased the Columbus
Music House in the former city. The company will
be operated under the name of Burton & Conn. Mr.
Burton is a piano tuner and salesman.
PROSPEROUS MUSIC SECTION.
Lowenstein's department stores in Memphis, Tenn.,
established a music section a year ago, and is doing
a large business in various instruments. Paul Gold,
manager, is planning special features for the autumn
and winter months.
P. F. Schneider, of the Schneider Music Co., Vin-
cennes, lnd.. was a visitor at the Gulbransen Co. fac-
tories in Chicago recently.
