ist, Writes Flattering Letter to Phila-
delphia Manufacturers.
The Lester Piano Company, Philadelphia, is con-
stantly in receipt of many unsolicited letters of praise
for the Lester piano from leading musicians and com-
posers all over the country.
Great artists are loud in their expressions of ad-
miration of the Lester's beautiful tone, its perfect
action, great durability and lasting finish. Among

"The tone of the instrument is rich and full of
color, and the action is perfection itself. I have
played many makes of pianos, but can remember
none in the six-foot size that excelled this instru-
ment."

RELIABILITY OF THE
SEEBURQ AUTOMATICS
Admirable Feature in a Fine Line Which Re-
sults in Satisfaction in the Dealers, Cus-
tomers and Patrons.
One of the most satisfactory phases of the music
business at this time is the big and growing interest
in automatic instruments. Tt is a result of new con-
ditions in the recreational life of the American people
and keen manufacturers of the electric instruments
have been powerful in their efforts to respond to the
demands.
In all parts of the United States and Canada the
music trade is taking advantage of the opportunities
for sure profits offered by the line of the J. P. See-
burg Piano Co, 1510 Dayton street, Chicago. It is
large, varied and complete and includes coin-operated
pianos, orchestrions, and theater organs, a range
promising valuable results from the dealer's activities.
They are represented by the pioneer makers as in-
struments of the highest grade and the constant
growth in the number of dealers representing the
company is the best testimony for the reliability of
the mechanism.
The durable character of the parts in the Seeburg
instruments is a feature that makes for loyalty in
the dealers and for satisfaction on the part of the
customers. And it is an undeniable fact that the
How of nickels is in equal ratio to the gratification
of the patrons of the coin-operated instruments. So
the feature of reliability is one of the strongest

talking points for the lino of Secburg automatic in-
struments.
One of the great sellers in the line of the J. I 1 .
Seehurg Piano Co. is style "L," which the company
justly names "the key to positive profits." It has all
the qualities of tunefulness and durability that dis-
tinguishes the Seehurg line as well as the beauty of
case design and finish, which in the whole range of
styles is of exceptionally, artistic character.
THE SPECIAL SALES
CASE AT FORT WAYNE
Letter to Better Business Division of Music
Industries Chamber of Commerce Ex-
presses Appreciation at Results.
In connection with the following letter, received
by the Music Industries Chamber of Commerce, it
is fair to say that the Fort Wayne store in question
is not a branch of the Schaff Bros. Co., of Hunting-
ton, Indiana. The retail concern in Fort Wayne has
sold Schaff Bros, pianos, just as it does a number of
other makes, so that no possible reflection should be
made upon the Huntington industry. Here is the
letter:
The Fort Wayne Music Dealers' Association takes
this opportunity to thank you for the splendid co-
operation extended them in fighting and eliminating
contest advertising such as recently conducted in
Fort Wayne by J. W. Sprinkle and W. C. Murray
under the name of "Schaff Bros. Warerooms."
Through the assistance of the Fort Wayne Better
Business Bureau this form of advertising has been
eliminated and the Fort Wayne Music Dealers' Asso-
ciation has every reason to be proud of its achieve-
ment in eliminating this questionable form of ad-
vertising in Fort Wayne.
Assuring you that the Fort Wayne Music Dealers'
Association appreciate your efforts and again thank-
ing you for your splendid co-operation,
Very truly yours.
(Signed) GFO. W. JACOBS. JR..
President,
Fort Wayne Music Dealers' Association.
It is furthermore fair to explain that the wareroom
referred to is conducted by W. J. Sprinkle: that gen-
tleman is not the owner of it. The business is owned
by Mrs. W. C. Murray, who employs Mr. Sprinkle as
manager. The complaint of the rival dealers in Fort
Wayne was based upon a '"special sale'' during which,
according to Mr. Sprinkle's own statement to a
Presto representative "the store was filled from front
to rear."
CONSISTENT OHIO FIRM.
The W. E. Jones Piano Co., Mansfield, O.. has
specialized in pianos since 1895. and always has been
consistent in its methods of presenting the goods.
W r ith the Steinway piano as a leader the firm has
built up a splendid business and its ambitious effort
is to add to its clientele. Almost without change, the
company has held to the strong line of pianos which
it originally adopted. It represents the Duo-Art in
the Steinway, Weber, Steck and Stroud instruments.
In the line of straight pianos these standard makes
are sold: Steinway, A. B. Chase, Hobart M. Cable.
Estey, Lyon & Healy. Lindeman and Emerson. Be-
sides these, the Gulbransen Registering piano is
carried.
ARTIST PRAISES WESER PIANO.
Bernardo de Mum, the famous Sardinian tenor,
who recently made his debut at the Manhattan Opera
House, New York, has chosen the Weser piano for
studio and accompaniment uses, and in a recent let-
ter very warmly praised the tone qualities of the
instrument. Wi'ser Bros., Inc., feels justly gratified
that its instrument was selected for such prominent
use, and consider the circumstance another of many
increasing evidences of the wonderful improvement
which has taken place in the pianos being produced
by this old-established linn.
A SIOUX CITY VOICE CONTEST.
The Fourth Annual Voice Contest of the Schmoller
& Mueller Piano Co., Sioux City, la., will be held in
the recital hall of the company, 415 Nebraska street,
August 26, 27 and 28, when ten scholarships will be
awarded to the best ten untrained voices in Sioux
City and adjacent territory, five for men and boys
and five for women and girls. There is no money
consideration.
