CONVENTION SLOGAN IN
GULBRANSEN ADVERTISING
"Start the Day with Music" Has Been Every-
where Considered Effective Suggestion by
Observant Dealers from All Parts.
Everywhere the convention visitor looked in Chi-
cago last week he saw the inspiring slogan, "Start the
Day with Music." Wherever used, it was printed or
painted in an odd shade of blue.
"Start the Day with Music" was the Gulbransen
slogan of the convention. It was voted such a good

pianos these standard makes are sold: Steinway, A.
B. Chase, Hobart M. Cable, Estey, Lyon & Healy,
Lindeman and Emerson. Besides these, the Gul-
bransen Registering piano is carried and has been
placed in many homes in Mansfield and vicinity.
To list the purchasers of pianos from the W. E.
Jones Piano Company would be a good bit like tak-
ing a "Who's Who' 1 of this vicinity. The very best
families are listed among the customers of the store,
and in many cases every branch of the family is
listed as a purchaser. Almost every school and
church in and around the city has a piano from Jones.
Outside of its regular sales work the W. E. Jones
Company is seeking to further every musical trend
in the city. The recent successful music week was

Scores of dealers made application for window
strips of "Start the Day with Music" when they saw
them at the convention. It may therefore be ex-
pected that the slogan, originating with the Gulbran-
sen institution in Chicago as a special convention fea-
ture will be used nationally. Window strips, tags,
electros of the slogan, etc., are available to Gulbran-
sen dealers for use in local effort.
W. E. JONES PIANO CO.
SUCCESSFUL OHIO FIRM
Music Business Established Thirty-two Years
Ago Continues to Grow As Result of
Excellent Sales Methods.
The W. E. Jones Piano Co., Mansfield, O., which
has specialized in pianos since 1895 has always been
consistent in its methods of presenting the goods.
With the Steinway piano as a leader the firm built up
a splendid business and its ambitious effort is to add
to its clientele. The band goods section has proved
a success since it was installed and a similar experi-
ence is assured for its new radio department.
The W. E. Jones Piano Co. was started at Lou-
donville, O., in 1893, by W. E. Jones. In 1912 the
business was moved to Mansfield. It was first lo-
cated in the Ford building, but the expansion of the
business required its removal eight years ago to the
present home at 50-52 Park Ave. West. Two floors
and a basement are needed to care for all depart-
ments and 10,000 feet of floor space is filled with
musical instruments and merchandise.
The W. E. Jones Company has seen the entrance
of first cabinet piano player, the development of the
playerpiano, and finally the perfection of the repro-
ducing piano.
Almost without change, the company has held to
the strong line of pianos which it originally adopted.
It represents the Duo-Art in the Steinway, Weber,

certs, and many other musical treats, are made pos-
sible through Jones co-operation, and the bringing
of such popular dance orchestras as Bennie Kreu-
ger's w 7 ould not be possible were it not for the sup-
port of this company. The W. E. Jones company is
trying to provide for the musical needs of the city
and vicinity and be helpful in every way that it can.
