Reduced Rates Apply to Members and Their De-
pendents and Mean Half Fares Are Lower
Than Ever Before.
The Music Industries Chamber of Commerce has
received word of the granting of special railroad rates
of fare and one half for the round trip to and from
the National Music Industries Convention in Chi-
cago in June.
The Transcontinental Passenger Association and
the Western Passenger Association, under whose
jurisdiction the Chicago conventions fall, first
granted the rates and the Central Passenger Asso-
ciation, also with headquarters in St. Louis, have
followed suit. The others to he heard from are the
New England, Southeastern, Trunk Line and Cana-
dian Eastern and Canadian Western Association.
The rates apply to all members attending the con-
vention of the Music Industries Chamber of Com-
merce and to division associations, and to dependent
members of their families. The rates are subject to
the usual conditions of the certificate plan, requiring
at least 250 attendance and return over the same
route. The certificates called for by past Music
Industries conventions far exceed that. Other spe-
cial rates may prove more desirable to members from
some sections, as for example tourist rates from the
Pacific coast.
Half Fares on Return.
The following notice was received by the Chamber
"Referring to your application for reduced fares,
account above named occasion:
"Reduced fares on basis of one and one-half fare
on the certificate plan will be granted from terri-
tory shown in attached excerpt from joint circular
dated April 29, 1925—on condition of an attendance
of 250 or more presenting certificates showing the
purchase of one-way fare to the place of meeting is
67 cents or more.
"Certificates which show the purchase of tickets on
dates shown on the attached under 'Going Dates of
Sale' when validated by Joint Agent, will be honored
for return tickets at one-half fare, if presented to
ticket agent not later than date shown on attached
under 'Einal Honoring Date.'
"Full fare will be paid on going trip and tickets
for the return journey will be sold at one-half fare,
via the same routes as traveled on going trip to mem-
bers attending the meeting and dependent members
of their families, upon presentation of certificates of
the standard form when properly signed by Mr.
Alfred L. Smith, New York. N. Y.,
and validated by a Special Agent on June 8-13, in-
clusive.
The Return Trip.
"The reduced fare for the return journey will not
apply unless holder of certificate is properly iden-
tified, as provided for by the certificate. Return
ticket issued at the reduced fare will not be good on
any limited train on which such reduced fare trans-
portation is not honored and will be subject to the
same transit limits and stopover regulations as apply
on regular one-way tickets. If two certificates are
issued on account of the through going trip, they will
be validated for purchase of reduced fare return
tickets, provided the necessity of the issuance of two
certificates is apparent.
"No certificate issued in connection with a clergy,
charity or employe's ticket, or any other form of
transportation sold at Jess than the normal one-way
adult or child's fare, will be honored for reduced fare
returning, nor included in computing the number in
attendance.
"The carriers will not advertise Convention fares,
make announcement thereof in folders or otherwise,
nor participate in any advertising expense, such as
itineraries or other form of publication."

NEW SUPERINTENDENT
FOR STARCK FACTORY
E. J. Fishbaugh Now Has Charge of Mechani-
cal Departments of the Substantial
Chicago Industry.
The factory of the P. A. Starck Piano Co., Ashland
avenue and 39th street, Chicago, is now progressing
in the expert charge of E. J. Fishbaugh who until
recently was superintendent of the Lyon & Healy
plant. Mr. Fishbaugh has had wide experience in
piano manufacture, having been at different times in
the employ successively of the Van Dyke Piano Co.,
the Chute & Butler Company, the Hobart M. Cable
Company, the A. B. Chase Co. and Lyon & Healy,
since he left New York twenty years ago.
Mr. Fishbaugh, in his present position, succeeds
such experts as Charles Stanley and Max Richsteig
who had charge of the Starck plant for a good many
years. Even with such predecessors, however, Mr.
Fishbaugh's reputation is such as to guarantee no
depreciation in the quality of the Starck pianos.
Wilson & Barber, Buffalo, N. Y., will move its
branch in Kenmore from the present quarters in
Delaware avenue, opposite the Kenmore Village Hall,
to a new blilding erected in Delaware avenue.
NEW DU0=ART CATALOGUE
Among the interesting new pieces of
piano literature is the new Duo-Art cata-
log just issued by the Aeolian Company.
The book is made for general distribution
and has a cover of black and gold on
taupe stock, and the inside pages are like-
wise printed in two colors, with a most
interesting scheme of piano illustration.
The set of the pages, with two sizes of
type is new in piano books. The book
was designed by Frank Fleming of
Rogers & Company, who has created
much of the Aeolian Company's literature
in the last thirty years.
The new book is characteristic of the
publicity methods of the Aeolian Com-
pany and is a tribute to the advertising
efforts of the house and peculiar gifts of
the designer. It is a notable and praise-
worthy addition to a tasteful and con-
vincing line of literature for Duo-Art, a
name known the world over associated
with instruments for the reproduction of
accurate recordings of great artists'
playing.
