Many New Names Appear in Musical Instrument
Business and Old Ones Continue in Activities.
Application for trade mark registration for the
name "Magic Wonder" has been filed with the United
States Patent Office by C. Bruno & Son, Inc., New-
York, the trade mark to be used for merchandising
banjos and music stands.
A photograph in the "Tampa Times," Tampa, Fla.,
recently showed a full carload shipment of Victrolas
direct from the Victor plant at Camden, N. J., being
received at the local store of S. Ernest Philpitt &
Sons. This was the third large shipment of instru-
ments received since Oct. 1, totaling more than 300
Victrolas.
William Hengerer Co., Buffalo, a leading depart-
ment store, opened a music department recently.
The De Molay Band, Wichita, Kan., playing Mar-
tin Handcraft instruments, with R. E. Hall, leader,
furnished the music at a frolic of Masons and their
families held at the Consistory recently.
Cluett & Sons, Inc., 508. State street, Sehenectady,
N. Y., featured Martin Handcraft band instruments
in a strong way during the pre-Christmas weeks.
Miss Zhay Clark, harpist at the California Theater,
San Francisco, which maintains a fine orchestra, has
been placed in charge of the of the harp department
of the Rudolph Wurlitzer Co. in that city.
Following a concert in Wichita, Kan., recently the
J. O. Adams Music Co. displayed records of songs
sung by Reinald Werrenrath, and as a result did a
big business in the records of "Kashmiri Song" and
"On the Road to Mandalay."
The Kelley Music Co., Gainesville, Fla., formerly
located on East University avenue, has been removed
to the corner store at East University avenue and
aMin street.
FOREIGN ROLL LIST APPEALS.
The foreign list of Universal electric piano rolls
issued by the Capitol Roll & Record Co., 721 North
Kenzie avenue, Chicago, commands the attention of
dealers handling electric pianos. These rolls are for
Coinola Style "A" and "C"; Operators' Piano Co.,
Style "A," "C" and Cupid; Seeburg, Style "A," "B,"
"C," "D," "E," " F " and "K"; Chicago Electric, Cre-
mona, Howard, Tangley Caliope and Calliaphone,
and all styles of 65-note rewind electric pianos.
