Dear Sirs :
LOUIS BODMAN CANTERBURY, Tenor, Teacher of Singing
Your letter (enclosed) came to
hand promptly. I have delayed a
reply until now in order that I may
say rather more than I have said
a month since.
T have had the piano now for a
full month. It has had service,
daily use, and that, too, in the most
unusual changeable weather we
have all been experiencing this
summer—90 yesterday, for in-
stance, and 65 today. This piano
is beautiful in tone; has a beauti-
ful case ; and is without doubt well
and honestly made; the Jesse
French reputation of fifty years
should guarantee that. Above all,
however, it does something that no
other piano I have had — and
I have had nearly all the best
makes in my thirty years of teach-
ing—it stands in tune. This studio
gives an average of 50 lessons a
week the year round; and, as you
know, the middle notes of a piano
in vocal teaching get as much work
in a month as the average piano
would in a home in a year's time.
I have never been so well pleased
with any piano; am glad to say so
at any time to anybody; and you
may use this letter to any extent
you wish.
The Director of one of the larg-
est Choral Societies in Chicago—-
of National reputation—has the
studio for vocal teaching two days
a week, and agrees with me in per-
fect satisfaction with the piano.
I think so well of the piano that
I would be most glad to take a day
in August, come down to your fac-
tory, look into your methods of
construction, etc., so as to be in a
position to boost you 100%.
Yours cordially,
(Signed) L. B. Canterbury.
