The Phonograph Shop, Corpus Christi, Tex., is one
of the busy music stores of that interesting city. But
the gratifying results year in and year out proceed
from a very visible cause—the sturdy and energetic
owners, G. M. Cotton and J. M. Graves. A recent
evidence of the ability and activity of the gentlemen
named was a successful special drive on the pianos
of Lyon & Healy, Chicago, which the Phonograph
Shop creditably represents in the thriving Texas city.
In the strenuous details of the sale the partners were
assisted by Henry P. Veatch, Lyon & Healy repre-
sentative in that section.
In celebration of the success of the sale of Lyon &
Healy instruments and as a relaxation after the period
of continuous selling effort, the three gentlemen
treated themselves to a day off and went fishing in
Corpus Christi Bay. The results of the day with the
rods are plain to the beholder of the accompanying
cut. They caught this string of beautiful and palat-
able trout in three hours of fishing.

Clark. Deliveries can be made quickly by our deal-

or the Repro-Phraso, the personal reproducing piano.
You can purchase one on terms within your income,

The New Location Will Serve as Convenient
Downtown Headquarters for Visiting
Dealers in Chicago.
The Continental Piano Co., Boston, Mass., will
open an office in the downtown district of Chicago,
the date and place of which has not yet been given.
The office will be the Chicago headquarters of the
Continental Piano Co., in which will be maintained
a clerical force, part, if not all, of the present staff of
the Smith, Barnes & Strohber Co.
The Chicago office will also be the western dealers'
headquarters and le'ases and other business will be
attended to. There will be no warerooms connected
with the office.
The removal of the Smith, Barnes & Strohber
Co.'s factory to the North Milwaukee branch, where
the production will be centered, will take place in the
near future, but the move has not been formally an-
nounced by the Boston firm.
Stanwood Miller, who will make his headquarters
at the Chicago office, is at present in the East, visiting
the general offices of the Continental Piano Co. at
395 Boylston street, Boston.

Merits of Small Instrument in Tone and Size Allur-
ingly Told in Saturday Evening Pest.
"The very grand you want," is pointed out to pro-
spective piano buyers in a striking display in the
Saturday Evening Post of Oct. 18 by the Story &
Clark Piano Co., Chicago. The attractions of the
instruments are detailed in the text that accompanies
the homey scene shown in a cleverly drawn illustra-
tion. This is said:
"It's an achievement! A beautiful little instrument
designed by Story & Clark tone scientists, after years
of experimenting, so that it has all the full, rich tone
of the la.rge grand—and yet requires, but little space
in the home.
"Why not buy it now? Go to your nearest Story
& Clark dealer—see the piano—hear it—play it—and
you'll order one sent home. You'll marvel at the
moderate price for an instrument of such fine qual-
ity. Everybody wants one—its widespread popular-
ity is so well merited.
"If there isn't a dealer in your immediate vicinity,
write us direct. We'll tell you where to get one—
but don't buy a grand until you've seen the Story &
SCHAFF BROS. TW0=T0NE
FINISH WINS TRADE
Industry at Huntington, Indiana, Is Producing These
Styles in Rapidly Increasing Numbers.
Some of the foremost industries have won added
success by reason of the beauty of their two-tone
finish pianos. Notable in this respect is the Schaff
Bros. Co., of Huntington, Indiana, some of the styles
of which present a peculiarly beautiful appearance in
the new finish. The case designs of the Schaff Bros.
instruments are always graceful, and dealers find
them ready sellers because of the first impressions of
customers who respond to the rule that "what the
eye sees the heart believes."
And in the duo-tone finish of the pianos from the
Schaff Bros. Co. buyers have every reason to be
more than ordinarily satisfied. They are pianos of
distinctly fine tone, and their durability is testified to
by many years of use in every state and city of the
Union.
Vice-President and General Manager C. S. Miller
is himself a practical piano maker, and he is as proud
of the beauty of the Schaff Bros, two-tone pianos as
any other member of the factory.
MISS SHIELDS IS OWNER.
Miss Eleanor Shields, Bloomington, Ind., has pur-
chased the interest of her partner, Mrs. Emma Booe,
and is now sole owner of the City Book & Music
store. Miss Shields was formerly connected with
the University book store and two years ago she and
Mrs. Booe purchased the City Book Store from N. O.
Pittenger. Miss Shields is president of the Business
and Professional Women's Club, of Bloomington,
and widely known among musical people.
OPENS IN CONTINENTAL, O.
Chas. Wright has opened a music store in his own
building in Continental, Ohio. The location of the
store on South Main street is considered one of the
most desirable in that growing city and Mr. Wright
has fitted up a modern store worthy of his ambition
and a fine stock of music goods.
