BUYS C. F. GOEPEL CO.'S ASSETS
American Piano Supply Co.'s Purchase Includes Con-
tracts, Name and Good Will.
The American Piano Supply Company, Inc., 110-
112 East Thirteenth street, New York City, has
purchased all the assets of the long established sup-
ply house of C. F. Goepel & Co., including merchan-
dise, unexecuted contracts, name, good will, etc. The
sale was closed some time ago, but the American
Piano Supply Company, Inc., only received the bill
of sale on Friday of last week.
Due to Charles F. Goepel's will, the business
was conducted as a part of the estate and the vari-
ous lawyers concerned agree that the necessary
handling of this matter under the authority of the
Surrogate established a precedent, as there was no
record on the books of a previous case of this kind.
"This change appears to us to be along the logical
lines of development as illustrated among our piano
manufacturing customers," said W. C. Hess, presi-
dent, this week. "It is self-evident in order to per-
mit of the most economical handling of business,
concentrated effort is imperative and increased vol-
ume of sales only, will permit of our continuing to
give our customers the best prices, quality, and above
all, the service which they expect and must receive."
FEATURE CONN INSTRUMENTS.
Conn instruments were featured last week in a
joint advertisement in Akron, O., newspapers by
the Edfred Music Co., and the Earle Poling Music
Co. It was the occasion of the concert given in the
Armory by John Philip Sousa and his band. The
concert was staged under the direction of Earle
Poling, head of the Earle Poling Music Co., who for
several years has been promoting concerts that have
brought the world's best artists to the city.
