ENJOY ANNUAL CLAMBAKE
All Pleasure, with Business Tabooed, Charac-
terized the Gathering of Associated Musical
Instrument Dealers at LoerHer's Casino.
On Sunday,, October 12, one hundred and fifty of
the leading musical instrument manufacturers, distrib-
utors and dealers of New York City, with their
families, friends and employees, attended the annual
clambake and outing of the Associated Musical In-
strument Dealers "of New York, which was held at
Loeffler's Casino, the Bronx, a place noted for its
clambakes and shore dinners.
The occasion was devoted entirely to social enjoy-
ment, business being for the time relegated to the
background. The members of the association and
their guests were seated at two large tables in a
corner of the grounds devoted entirely to their use,
where they indulged in a number of humorous and
vigorous outdoor games for which prizes had been
offered, as well as dancing to the music of Green
Brothers' famous recording orchestra, and entertain-
ment by vocal and instrumental solos by prominent
artists and members of the association.
This outing, which was the first of its kind to be
held by the Associated Musical Instrument Dealers
of New York, proved to be such an unqualified suc-
cess and so thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended
it, that it will be made an annual event to which
members of the association can look forward with
anticipation throughout the year.
Representatives and persons connected with the
most prominent musical instrument firms in New
York and vicinity were present in considerable num-
bers and expressed hearty appreciation of the splen-
did entertainment provided by the committee, which
consisted of William J. Smith, chairman; Harry L.
Hunt, A. J. Neumann, W. Earl Ricnard and George
M. Bundy.
The association holds monthly meetings through-
out the year and is extremely active in the promotion
of the interests of all manufacturers, distributors, and
dealers of New York City and vicinity. Although
organized less than a year ago it is already an effec-
tive force for the promotion of music and the de-
velopment and protection of the music industry. It
is affiliated with the Music Industries Chamber of
Commerce through membership in the National Musi-
cal Merchandise Association of the U. S., which is a
division member of the Chamber.
