The Starr Piano Co., Richmond, Ind., has issued a
bulletin of Gennett records comprising a good num-
ber of stirring marches and patriotic lecturers. The
numbers are of great significance and much good
should be derived from them, as they are dignified,
full of character and played with an inspiring vir-
tuosity, fervor and patriotism that cannot fail to
make an everlasting impression.

DILL BILL HUNG UP.
Congress adjourned on June 7 without having
taken any action on either the White Radio bill, the
Dill bill, or the various other copyright bills pending,
of interest to the music trade, music publishers, musi-
cal people generally and radio fans. The patents
committee of the Senate never went any further with
the Dill copyright bill than to have the hearing
printed. No report was ever made to the Senate
proper. Neither did the patent committee of the
House make any report on any of the copyright bills
pending before it. All of the bills, however, will be
before the Congress again when it convenes in De-
cember as that will not be the opening of a new Con-
gress but simply the second session of the sixty-
eighth Congress.
MANDOLIN ORCHESTRA MAKES RECORD.
The Brunswick Phonograph Company has just
made a trial recording of several popular selections
played by the Chicago Mandolin Orchestra. This
orchestra is made up of mandolins, violin, cello, harp,
guitars, flute, double bass, and drum. The recording
is thought to be exceptionally fine owing to the rich
and well balanced tone quality.

JOE MUELLER LIKES WASHBURN.
Joe Mueller, the wonderful banjoist of the Isham
Jones Orchestra on tour, writes to Lyon & Healy
that "the Washburn Banjo with the new resonator is
performing better than ever (which is saying some-
thing) and I am using it at every performance."
