PRESTO
"Other manufacturers worked along other lines.
They appreciated that the love of music is inborn in
everyone, that you and I love music, that we would
be happy if we could sit down to our piano and play
any composition as we feel it, as it appeals to us.
That meant the playerpiano ultimately would have
to be perfected to that point where the average per-
son, whether or not he understood or could read a
"It was finally accomplished. And as developed
by the house of which I am a member it is called The
Repro-Phraso, the personal reproducing piano, which
permits real human control of expression, phrasing,
accenting, melody playing, shading.
"The Repro-Phraso lifts the playerpiauo from the
limbo of mere mechanics into an instrument of per-
sonal expression, enabling the player to play any and

INCREASED INTEREST
IN SEEBURG ELECTRICS
Dependability of the Long Line of Automatic
Pianos Made by the J. P. Seeburg Piano
Co. Wins the Trade.
The alert music dealers no longer look upon the
electric pianos as "side lines," goods to be allotted a
minimum of space on the wareroom floor and the
;§pare time in the dealers' work day. They now real-
ize the wonderful sale and profit possibilities of the
automatic instruments and concede that time is well
employed in examining the field and launching a vig-
orous pursuit of the prospects.
The general interest in the automatic pianos has
largely been stimulated by the successes of the J. P.
Seeburg Piano Co., Chicago, in developing a salable
and highly dependable line of automatic instruments.
The company points to the reliability of the line as its
most prominent feature. And when the dealer con-
siders that his character for dependability is created
and upheld by the like qualities in the goods he sells
he will understand the pride of the J. P. Seeburg
Co. in the main feature of the automatic instruments
it manufactures.
The J. P. Seeburg Piano Co. points out to dealers
these important facts about its line: That Seeburg
electric pianos can always be relied on, that Seeburg
electric pianos are dependable, and durable, that See-
burg electric pianos when sold on installments bring
back the money quicker than any other piano sale,
that Seeburg electric pianos are real pianos built to
stand the hard usage a coin-operated piano gets.
The Chicago company also points out to every
thoughtful dealer that his stock is incomplete without
Seeburg electrics and that it would be to his interest
to post himself on the merits and profit possibilities
of the line. The new Seeburg catalogs give all the
latest information.

single note in the musical scale, could play with all
the command of the piano that otherwise could
only come with musical knowledge after long prac-
tice.
Tells of Experimental Work.
"So experimental work went along, year after year,
with every energy bent to develop the playerpiano
into a personal player, eliminating the mechanical
plaj'ing, and giving the player the same power of
musical expression that the trained pianist pos-
sesses.
every music roll, and to play it as his moods and
fancies dictate.
"When you sit down before the Repro-Phraso the
world of music is opened up to you, and just as you
read into the page of a book your own ideas, and
ideals and meanings, so you can now read into any
music your personal feelings and desires.
"And—the perfection of the playerpiano, as repre-
sented in the production of the Repro-Phraso, has
succeeded in greatly modifying the laborious pumping
process, which formerly was a common drawback
to all players."
The music dealers of Denver, Colo., from the first
have recognized the advantages that should result to
the music business from a spirited celebration of
Music Week, May 4 to 10. Apart from the help
given the local body in charge of the Music Week
activities the music dealers have made plans of their
own for store celebrations of an unusual kind. In
two of the music houses orchestras composed of house
talent have been organized and the progress shown in
the rehearsals promises a series of attractive pro-
grams in the music stores for the benefit of the
patrons and the glory of the eventful week.
The Franco-American Society of Denver, acting
in co-operation with the Denver Music Week Asso-
ciation Committee have secured the services of Marcel
Dupre, the Paris organist of international fame, for
the events of Music Week. The lovers of music in
Denver had the privilege of hearing the great organ-
ist play this week in a recital promoted by the Franco-
American Society. Another promised event is a
thorns of fifty voices from Colorado Springs to add
to the Denver attractions.
The city council of Denver has appropriated a sum
of money to help defray the expenses of Music Week.
BUMPING ALONG.
NEW STYLE "E" WESER
BROS. IS GREAT SELLER
Instrument of Admirable Tone and Beautiful
Case Provides Opportunities for Profits in
Quick Sales to Pleased Customers.
The new style "E" Weser Bros, upright is one of
the instruments in the line of Weser Bros. Inc., New-
York, with which dealers are achieving big sales
This new four feet, six inch model sells readily and
has great profit possibilities. The home and foreign
business in this style has attained very satisfactory
proportions.
Apart from the merits of tone, structural qualities
and price advantages found in Weser Bros, pianos,
the new style is remarkable for its handsome case
construction. It is another tribute to Weser Bros.,
Inc., for its artistic taste in designing cases for its
pianos and players.
The dealers handling the Weser Bros, line are pro-
vided with effective selling aids besides those com-
prised in the big and varied array of pianos and play-
ers.
By a generous co-operative arrangement the
dealer is helped by effective advertising planned to
interest the piano and player prospect in the W'eser
Bros, instruments. The well-written publicity makes
it clear that the customer in buying a Weser Bros,
instrument gets more than the full value of his in-
vestment. The new catalog and price list of Weser
Bros. Inc., is filled with information suggestive of
profit opportunities for the piano dealer.

Old man Worry was ambling out,
Groaning about the times.
"Can't get nowhere at all without
Paying a lot of dimes.
Why on earth is this not that?
Nothing at all is right.
No one can tell me where I'm at
Morning or noon or night."
Right at the corner old Worry bumped
Straight into Happy Good Cheer,
Flying along with a song as he jumped,
Shouting with voice glad and clear;
Nothing but sunshine along his way,
No sign of cloud in the sky,
Never a shadow to darken the sky,
Joy fills the hours that fly.
"Pretty near bumped me!" old Worry cried;
"'Spose you had knocked me dead!"
"Ah, but I didn't," Good Cheer replied.
"I give you a smile instead!
Smiles are the seed of flowers that blow,
Bright in the heart that's free—
Free as the gardens where roses grow,
Smiling for you and me."
