Premier Grand Piano Corporation
The Stodart Piano Company, Cypress Avenue and
Southern Boulevard, New York, has just announced
the manufacture of the Stodart "Radiano," a combi-
nation of the Stodart piano with a radio mechanism,
the latter being located in the same position where
the spool box of a player piano is ordinarily placed.
This latest expression of progressiveness and inven-
tive ability represents the joint efforts of Clarence S.
Hammond, manager of the musical instrument divi-
sion of Frederick Loeser & Co., Brooklyn, N. Y.,
and Otto Doll of the Stodart organization.
This instrument is, first of all, a piano of quality,
and therefore can be played in the regular manual
way. Its radio feature, which is so built in that it in
no way affects the lines or symmetry of the piano
itself, adds an unusual selling strength to this many-
sided musical instrument.
It is a far cry from the Stodart piano of one hun-
dred years ago, to the Stodart "Radiano"—the latest
instrument to bear the time-honored Stodart name.
A remarkable history of evolution in piano-making
could be written around the famous old Stodart,
based on the original Stodart of 1820, of which there is
an example on exhibition in the notable collection of
musical instruments at the Metropolitan Museum of
Art, New York—down to the latest exponent of the
Stodart as typified by the "Radiano" just on the mar-
ket.
