SHOW LINE IN PARLOR * "N
Value of the Rolls in Promoting Playerpiano Sales
Proved in Talks and Demonstrations.
Parlor "N" at the Hotel Gibson, Cincinnati, this
week was one of the most cheerful places of the
convention headquarters of the Ohio Music Mer-
chants' Association which was held on Tuesday and
Wednesday. Parlor "X" was the location of the dis-
play of its full line by the United States Music Co..
manufacturers of music rolls, 2934-2938 West Lake
Street, Chicago. The display was in charge of
George L. Ames, vice-president and sales manager of
the company, who was ably assisted by Walter T.
Ames, Ohio representative of the United States Mu-
sic Co., and M. Lindeman, who has charge of the
Indiana and Illinois territory and the city of Cin-
cinnati for the line of rolls.
The display was instructive as well as enjoyable
and continuous demonstrations made clear the merits
of the United States Music Co.'s rolls and the value
generally of good rolls in the promotion of player-
piano sales. The convention of the Ohio Music Mer-
chants' Association gave the United States Music
Co. an opportunity to meet a large body of Ohio
dealers and which was used to excellent advantage.
Dealers and salesmen visiting the display of the
United States Music Co., in Parlor "NT" were im-
pressed with the talks and demonstrations of Mr.
Ames and his associates who made clear the func-
tion of the good roll properly used in increasing and
perpetuating the sale of the playerpiano. And the
"Built on Family Pride"
face-to-face talks and illustrations were certainly po-
tent for good. The belief of the United States Music
Co. is that the encouragement of music roll sales by
the dealers assures the use of the players by owners
and an appreciation of the rolls expressed by good
sales for the numbers in every monthly bulletin.
Visitors to Parlor "N" were specially impressed
with the fact that the best way to build a big and con-
tinuously increasing playerpiano business is to per-
petually keep repeating the fact that the best music
to suit every phase of musical taste in the public, is
available through, the playerpiano' by meansj, of
course, of the player music roll. The United States
Music Co. voices the belief that player music rolls
determine the interest of every playerpiano prospect
and that the more attractive the rolls the greater the
desire to possess a player. The clever demonstra-
tions in Parlor "N" proved to every visitor that
the United States Music Co.'s rolls brought out the
best qualities in the player.
KEEN RIVALRY AMONG
COLORADO SALES STAFFS
Pueblo Store of Knight-Campbell Music Co. Four
Times Winner of Loving Cup.
A keen rivalry to accomplish the most business dis-
tinguishes an active group of branch stores of the
Knight-Campbell Music Co., with headquarters in
Denver, Colo. Salesmen in the branch stores in Col-
orado Springs, Boulder, Pueblo, Cheyenne, Trinidad,
and Grand Junction vie for the possession of the sil-
ver loving cup each month and triumph by the staff
of a branch is the cause of considerable elation and
pride.
Pride in the local institution is added to individual
pride of the salesmen in the efforts to win the trophy
and the exciting event is admittedly a great stimu-
lation to sales of pianos and players. The Pueblo
branch holds the position of honor in the series as it
has won the loving cup four times out of seven this
year and expects to make it five times when the re-
sults for August are declared.
Manager Harry E. Mitchell of the Pueblo store
credits the spirit of his sales force in finding pros-
pects and closing sales in the excellent showing of
the store for 1923. For every month since January
a net increase over the corresponding period in 1922
is shown.

The two-tone walnut and mahogany cases con-

with many dealers representing the company the two-
tone styles are the best sellers. In addition to beauty
of appearance the instruments possess excellent tone
qualities and their construction is in the best sense
durable and reliable.
Every department of the factory is busy and ac-
cording to Curtis S. Miller, vice-president of the
company, there are orders enough on file to keep
things lively in the factory throughout the winter, in-
dependent of new business. Dealers representing
the Schaff Bros. Co.'s line praise the attractive
qualities of the instruments and find them easily sal-
able to appreciative and intelligent prospects, said
Mr. Miller this week.

FACTORY FIRE PREVENTION.
That the fire waste problem invites action in every
factory is the belief of the National Fire Prevention
Association, which has organized the International
Fire Prevention Congress to be held in the Seventy-
first street Armory, New York City, October 8 to 13.
Piano industries among others have been invited to
send representatives.
Acceptances have poured in
from the committee's invitations to speakers and, as
a result, some of the greatest authorities in the world
will discuss various means of promoting public safety
from fire hazard. The addresses will show the rela-
tion between fire safety in the factory and the credit
standing of the company, as well as the bearing
proper fire prevention has on the cost of factory
insurance.
WILLIAMS
PIANOS
The policy of the Williams House is and always
has been to depend upon excellence of product
instead of alluring price. Such a policy does not
attract bargain hunters. It does, however, win the
hearty approval and support of a very desirable
