CHRISTMAN FOR GREAT TEACHER
The accompanying picture of Mme. Edythe Le
Bermuth is a strong and convincing testimonial for
the Christman piano, made by the Christman Piano
Co., New York.
The Christman grand piano was selected by Mme.
Le Bermuth after inspection of various makes of in-
struments. The superior quality of the Christman
grand was so pronounced, especially its singing quali-
ties, which are such a help to the singer that Mme. Le
Bermuth immediately purchased one for her studio.
Before Mme. Le Bermuth became known in New
York as one of the finest vocal teachers of the day,
stage presence of her pupils are admired by all who
hear them. Mme. Le Bermuth has also a remark-
able method of restoring tired and misused voices and
throat troubles disappear when singers follow her
unique method.
Mme. Le Bermuth studied under the famous
Moriam of. Brussels for opera and concerts. Also
under Prof. Vermandile of the Conservatory of
Brussels, diction and acting. Musical theory piano
sol fe je under Prof. Steugers.
All of these professors are renowned and masters
of their arts. She has sung all over Europe. Amongst

she made for herself an enviable reputation as a
singer, both abroad and in this country. She is now
recognized as an excellent teacher, and an expert
voice placer. Her pupils all have the benefit of in-
dividual and personal training and Mme. Le Bermuth
displays an interest in their progress that inspires and
stimulates ambition. Her pupils are thoroughly in-
structed in five languages—viz., French, Italian, Span-
ish, German and English, all of which Mme. Le Ber-
muth speaks fluently. Interpretation and style are
given their just dues, while the self-possession and
her pupils are Rosalind Fabian, Estelle Taiken, Ethel
Whiteside and others.
This teacher, who becomes such a friend to all her
students, has a most interesting and distinguished
personality and the privilege of association with so
cultured and charming a person is not the least of the
advantages that bless her pupils. Her studio is a
rendezvous for celebrities in the world of music, and
from the success which has already greeted her efforts
her pupils seem to also be celebrities in the making.

ness done by the Straube store. It is an outstand-
ing example of what can be accomplished by music
merchants in medium-sized towns by adopting uni-

CHICAGO
The retail store of the Straube Piano Company,
Hammond, Ind., has just experienced the greatest
July in the history of the institution. The straight-
forward policy of the Straube store, its one price to
everyone, and the character and amount of its news-
paper advertising are given credit for the unusually
large sale. The Straube store carries a 30-inch ad-
vertisement every day in the local newspaper on the
editorial page and backs this up with one of the larg-
est stocks of musical merchandise in the state of
Indiana.
Approximately 50 pianos—players, grands and up-
rights—are kept in stock in the large display room
at all times. Such a stock rivals that of the metro-
politan houses, and is a large factor in the large busi-
BUYS IN BUFFALO.
Albert Poppenburg, formerly connected with his
brother, G. H., in Poppenburg Bros. Music Co., Buf-
falo, N. Y., recently bought the business of the Bra-
ner Music Shoppe in Main street. The Braner Music
Shoppe handles pianos, talking machines and sheet
music. Clifford Curtis, also formerly connected with
Poppenburg Bros. Music Co., is manager of the Bra-
ner Music Shoppe.
OPENS IN GREENCASTLE, IND.
Workmen are busy repairing the store to be used
by John A. Cartwright, Greencastle, Ind., who will
put in a stock of pianos, talking machines and rec-
ords, etc. He will open just as soon as the store can
be made ready.
