CONCERT ARTIST LAUDS
HAZELTON BROTHERS GRAND
Edouard Hesselberg, Chicago, Impressed with Num-
ber of Hazeltcn Grand Owners in That City.
William Grosvenor, of the Grosvenor Piano Co.,
dealers in Hazelton Brothers pianos, 4414 Broadway,
Chicago, recently received a pleasant surprise in the
form of a letter from Edouard Hesselberg, well-
known piano concertist and teacher with studios at
843 Gait avenue, Chicago. Mr. Hesselberg was im-
pressed by • the number and quality of Hazelton
grands that he met. His letter follows:
"My Dear Sir: Inasmuch as I have lately run
across so many Hazelton jgrands in the residences
of my pupils, friends and acquaintances, I feel per-
fectly safe in saying that from professional experi-
ence as well as personal observation I find these in-
struments (without exception) possessed of a lovely
singing tone, and, better still, one that constantly im-
proves and grows on you with use."

So Says Speaker at Optometric Congress, Who
Points Out Cost Increase Causes.
Optical education, vision surveys and better illu-
mination for workers were urged last week by Prof.
Howard D. Minchin, of Ohio State University, at
the optometric congress in sessipn at Hotel Sher-
man, Chicago. When a man in the case department
blinks over a nicety in joining, up goes the cost of
piano making. When the bookkeeper squints over
his ledger or the supply buyer fumes over a mussy
report from the veneer stock room skyward goes the
factory overhead.
Something to that effect was told to the delegates
of the optometric congress by Prof. Minchin, who
asserted that whenever any employe anywhere
blinked, winked, squinted, or looked cross-eyed, the
cost of his product was increased. Such optical antics,
he asserted, are due entirely to poor eyesight, ' or
eye strain.
He urged as remedies an educational program,
vision surveys in shops and factories, the improve-
ment of illumination and a change in feminine styles.
