Popular New York Piano Finds Increasing Favor in
Public Schools of Pacific Slope.
The Davenport-Treacy piano continues to be in
great demand for use in schools and institutions
throughout the country.
The house of Sherman,
Clay & Company, with branches along the Pacific
Coast, is doing wonderful work in this direction.
This firm has already sold more than fifty Daven-
port-Treacy pianos to schools, colleges, hospitals,
churches and other public institutions.
The Seattle, Washington, branch of the Sherman,
Clay & Company organization recently installed a
Davenport-Treacy piano in the Gatewood School of
that city. This public school was opened but a short
time ago, and the citizens of Seattle take a great deal
of pride in the fact that it is one of the best schools
of its kind along the Pacific slope. The school au-
thorities decided that the Davenport-Treacy piano
was the ideal instrument for their school, and were
no doubt influenced in their decision by testimonials
from other institutions which had previously pur-
chased this popular piano.

TROY HAS ANOTHER
HANDSOME MUSIC HOUSE
Recital Was Given at the Formal Opening of
Handsome New Store.
The formal opening of the new home of The Fos-
ter Piano Company, 283 River Street, Troy, N. Y.,
recently was quite an affair. About 100 invited
guests were present at a recital, and baskets of
flowers, palms and ferns were used in making the
rooms attractive.
The new home of The Foster Piano Company is a
great asset to Troy's musical progress. The front of
the store has been made attractive by elaborate light-
ing appointments. Large wicker chairs decorated
with cretonne give a homelike atmosphere to the
store. It is the purpose of The Foster Piano Com-
pany to establish in the store a community musical
center, with perhaps monthly music afternoon teas.
