J. B. Thiery, formerly head of the J. B. Thiery Co.,
420 Jackson street, Milwaukee, who recently re-
entered business, with offices in the Matthews build-
ing, 307 Grand avenue, has incorporated the new busi-
ness as the Thiery Piano & Phonograph Co., of Mil-
waukee, with an authorized capital of $50,000. The
former concern, out of business for the past year, did
principally a mail order business.
CHANGES MUSIC WEEK DATE.
The Berkeley Music Week Committee, Berkeley,
Cal., will devote next week to musical activities, in-
stead of the week of May 6, which has been set aside
as music week for Alameda County, Cal. The orig-
inal date for the entire county was the week of April
22, but the observance in the rest of the county was
changed so as not to interfere with the Community
Chest Drive in Oakland.
ST. LOUIS FIRM INCORPORATED.
Articles of incorporation have been iiled by the
Kirkland Piano Co., Inc., St. Louis, Mo., with a capi-
tal of $35,000, to deal in pianos, phonographs, records,
rolls, radios and musical instruments. The incor-
porators are J. H. Kirkland, E. M. Kirkland and G. A.
Repple.

been elected secretary-treasurer of the Elmwood Park
Improvement Club.
C. C. Edwards, formerly sales manager of the piano
department of Hahne & Co., Newark, N. J., has
joined the sales organization of the George J. Birkel
Co., Los Angeles, Cal.
Elmer D. Luhring, of the Stahlschmidt Piano Co.,
Evansville, Ind., who, in company with his wife, has
been touring South American countries, is expected
to return to Evansville this week.
N. W. Bryant, head of the N. VV. Bryant Piano
Company at Evansville, Ind., has returned from St.
Petersburg, Fla., where he spent most of the winter.
J. W. Carnes, piano tuner and dealer, of Kewanee,
Ills., was a Chicago visitor this week. He came to
attend the annual meeting and dinner of the Piano
Tuners Association at the Hotel LaSalle, Tuesday
evening.
R. L. Byars, senior member of the Firm of R. L.
Byars & Son, of Shelbina, Mass., dealers in musical
instruments, has purchased the interest of his son in
