Curb on Broadcasting by Big Companies Named,
Alleged By Omaha Man.
A charge that the Radio Corporation of America,
the General Electric Company and others have en-
tered a conspiracy to obtain a monopoly of wire-
less service and prevent individual use of the radio
was made in a suit filed in the United States Dis-
trict court last week by John O. Yeiser, Jr., of
Omaha, who asks an injunction to restrain the
defendants from interfering with his right to broad-
cast.
Air. Yeiser alleges that "there are 25,000 wave
lengths that may be used in transmitting distinct
non-interfering radio service, and yet the said de-
fendants, by conspiring with unknown underlings
in the department of the government assuming to
exercise authority over the radio service, have crowd-
ed all broadcasting stations sending music, lectures
'and educational matters to waves of 360 meters."
The Radio Corporation, General Electric Company,
the American Telephone and Telegraph Company,
the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and the
YVestinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company
and other persons and corporations unknown to Mr.
Yeiser, he avers, "intend to erect distinct sending
stations and commercialize the same by charges for
broadcasting."
He alleges his own radio station was closed re-
cently because he was operating slightly above the
360-meter wave length. A jury to determine, damages,
which he alleges to be $25,000, is requested, with
treble damages under the Sherman anti-trust law
and an attorney's fee of $25,000.
STEINWAY THE LEADER.
