Little Items Telling of Activity of Live Ones in
Selling Field.
J. T. Couch, piano dealer of McKinney, Texas,
was in Chicago on Monday of this week and called
on prominent piano manufacturers.
B. M. Grunewald, of New Orleans, La., was in
Chicago Monday making calls on piano and player-
piano manufacturers.
H. B. Manby, of the Knight-Campbell Miusic
Company, Denver, Colo., was in Chicago on
Wednesday and Thursday of this week, having
stopped over on his way home from New York and
other eastern points, where he had been for three
weeks. He stopped in Chicago on his way east
also. Mr. Manby has been in the piano business for
more than forty-five years, and is widely acquainted
with the members of the trade.
A complete line of small music goods has been
added to the existing lines of the Grinnell Bros,
store in Toledo, O.
Newark, N. J., piano dealers are taking an active
part in plans for the Sixth Annual Music Festival
which will be held in that city April 3, May 1 and 3.
W. R. Holt, of Fairmount City, Pa., writes to
Presto that he has recently found ready sale for all
the pianos he can get, and prospects are very bright
for the coming season. Mr. Holt also sells phono-
graphs.
"Let the salesman talk—you do the testing," ad-
vises the Baxter Piano Co., Davenport, la., in ad-
vertising the Gulbransen playerpiano.
Armstrong's, Oklahoma City, Okla., sums up
Knabe merits in the following statement this week:
"The flawless qualities of tone and action of the
Knabe piano have always commanded the attention
and reverence of such great artists as Godowsky,
Rosenthal, Humperdinck, Ornstein, Ysaye, Ham-
bourg, and many others who have all claimed
greater power and eloquence of expression on the
Knabe than on any other piano.
"Money saved is money earned." We know our
piano prices are lower on our seventh floor than
they could possibly be if we .maintained a special
piano store on an expensive ground-floor corner.
Overhead expense enters into the piano question on
pianos," say Lipman Wolfe & Co., Portland, Ore.,
Knabe representative in that city.

house of Newark, N. J., is a new Symphonola dis-
tributor. They have handled eastern made pianos
almost exclusively in the past, but now the prod-
ucts of the Price & Teeple Piano Company, of Chi-
cago, will also have a prominent place in the trade
of the Newark house.
