support Intercard marketing director Lynda Brotherton and
her team as the company continues to expand its global busi-
ness in debit card technology.
Sax writes regularly on business trends, technology, and
personalities in the FEC industry. He has contributed to
major industry trade publications and is a member of the
International Bowling Media Association. Sax was born in
Toronto, Canada, the home of five-pin bowling, and lives in
Los Angeles.
“Robert Sax has worked with many thought leaders in
the FEC and bowling industries,” said Scott Sherrod, CEO
of Intercard. “As Intercard continues to grow its business
world-wide, he will help us tell the great stories behind our
market-leading products and services.”
James Adam Browning has been appointed to Gold
Medal Products Co. as office president. Browning joined Gold
Medal in 2010 and most recently served in the dual role of
executive vice president and general counsel.
“This is a relationship business,” Browning said. “I will
continue to focus on customer service and building strong
relationships with our customers and within the industry.”
Browning enters the role with an eye on the company’s
continuing performance and growth.
Andy Shang also joins Gold Medal Products as vice presi-
dent of engineering. Shang has nearly two decades of leader-
ship roles within the manufacturing industry. Most recently,
he served as director of quality and engineering with Henny
Penny, a manufacturer of foodservice equipment.
At Gold Medal, he will lead, develop and direct the engi-
neering and technical teams. His responsibilities will include
new product development, product engineering, and quality
processes.

said Shang. “I look forward to applying my knowledge and
experience to help Gold Medal develop products and tech-
nology that will shape the concession foods industry.”

Dennis Graham joins H. Betti Industries as a part of
Betson Enterprises’ parts sales and customer service team as
director of parts sales. Previously, Graham worked for Enablx,
a New Jersey-based service provider that supports outsourced
customer service programs. There, he managed a staff of over
70 people. During his tenure, he worked closely with custom-
er service representatives as well as directly with clients.
“We are delighted to welcome Dennis to the team,” said
Richard Zayas-Bazan, vice president of Betson Imperial Parts
& Service. “His extensive management experience and cus-
tomer service background will enrich the team and increase
our offering in the market as we look to expand the parts
department.”

Tony Grant also joins Betson Enterprises to lead its
Audio Visual Department. In his new role, Grant will work
on developing Betson’s audio visual presence to meet the
needs of today’s family entertainment center clients. His
focus will be on ensuring customers are well serviced from
not just a sales point of view, but from a technological and
engineering perspective.

to work in such an amazing sector for the past 28 years,”
said Grant. “I love working with clients to bring their audio
visual interpretations to life. I am looking forward to deliver-
ing profitable a/v solutions to Betson’s customers.”
Previously, Tony worked for Visual Systems Group Inc. as
an account manager and sales engineer, where in two years,
his clients tripled as he took his territory from zero to $7 mil-
lion. He has also worked at Anderson Audio Visual, H.T.T.
Integration, R2W Inc. and AVI-SPL. Grant can be contacted

Dan Mathews, the National Automatic Merchandising
Association’s executive vice president and COO is retiring
following 18 years of service, effective July 1. Mathews’
experience at NAMA was the capstone of a 50-year career
in the industry with leading corporations, including Aramark
and earlier, Chrysler.
“Dan’s legacy is wide-ranging, beginning with NAMA’s
16-year partnership with Michigan State University, highlight-
ed by the endowment of professor Dr. Michael Kasavana as
well as NAMA’s Executive Development Program,” said Carla
Balakgie, NAMA’s CEO. “In the nutrition arena, he also was
part of the team that developed ground-breaking nutrition pro-
grams, Balanced for Life, which evolved to become FitPick.”
