Cineplex announced that it is acquiring all of the assets
of Dandy Amusements International. Upon completion of
the transaction, which is anticipated to take place this month,
Dandy will become part of Cineplex’s Player One Amuse-
ment Group.
“With Player One, we remain focused on scaling our U.S.
operations through new and existing customer development,
segment expansion, and strategic mergers and acquisitions
like this one,” said Ellis Jacob, president and CEO, Cineplex.
“Dandy is well-known in the industry as a leading amuse-
ment gaming machine operator in the western United States
and we are pleased to have them join our rapidly growing
Amusement Solutions business. This announcement further
strengthens our ability to service customers on a truly North
American scale,” he said.

Zero Latency, maker of free-roam virtual reality gaming,
enlisted industry veteran Bob Cooney to staff the Zero Laten-
cy booth during the Amusement Expo International in Dallas
last month. Cooney’s mission was to share a wide range of
details and field questions from potential operators about
how the Zero Latency arenas are “raising the bar for loca-
tion-based entertainment.”
“Pundits are finally realizing that virtual reality is going to
explode out-of-home [entertainment] before it catches on in
the consumer market, and Zero Latency’s game arenas are at
the forefront of this breakthrough,” said Cooney. “While VR
is still relatively new, and even experienced industry insiders
and seasoned operators have questions, Zero Latency has
eighteen months of retail operation experience to share.”
