NEWS BULLETIN ..,.. BUNDRAS LEAVE AMERI CORPORATION ... On July 9, brothers Frank and Joe Bundra resigned their positions with Ameri Corporation. According to a joint statement, " This includes positions as officers, board of directors, representatives, and all day-to-day activities." No reason was given for their departure. The Bundras will , however, continue to represent product from Bmmley Inc. through their company, Prism Products. The phone number is (708) 705-5991 ; the FAX is (708) 705-8095. The ones mentioned above are correct and should be used to contact the Bundras about Bromley product.) ..,.. AAMA MEETS WITH CONGRESSMEN ... AAMA representatives conducted 34 congressional follow-up meetings in Washington , D.C. , on June 25-27 to lobby for passage of dollar coin legislation. The members-Gil Pollock, Frank Ballouz, Rick Currie, Steve Koenigsberg , Bill Rickett, Al Stone, and Rus Strahan- also attended a Coin Coalition planning session and had dinner with Rep. Richard Lehman , an important supporter of the legislation. Lehman , chairman of the House Consumer Affairs and Coinage Subcommittee, said that he intends to hold more hearings on the dollar coin issue this fall. They will possibly take place in Seattle and Chicago. Also in attendance at the Lehman dinner were Jim Rost, president of the National Automated Merchandising Association (NAMA); Tom McMahon , director of NAMA; Jim Benfield , executive director of the Coin Coalition ; and Rowdy Yeates of Rep. Jim Kolbe's office. ..,.. NEW PRODUCT FROM WILLIAMS, MIDWAY... Keep an eye out for the latest releases from Williams Electronics and Midway Manufacturing, manufacturers of Bally/Midway Amusement Games. Williams' Diner is a pin set in the 1950s. Players must serve five customers their food orders to light the " Dine Time" · jackpot. For every customer served , players collect up to five percent of their score at the end of each ball. Hey dudes, the really cool world of skateboarding takes center stage in Midway's Radical. There are numerous ramps and a new up-down , self-adjusting diverter that automatically guides the ball to different scoring areas. Also new from Midway is Pigskin 621 A.O., a video game from the same team that designed Arch Rivals and Rampage. The setting is the Dark Ages ; two teams composed of rugged barbarians go head-to-head in " the scrimmage of the century." There are two levels of play and a 49-way joystick to control the action . Look for more complete descriptions of these games in the September issue. ..,.. REINERT DEPARTS ROWE .. . Michael Reinert has left Rowe International after a five-and-a-half year stint there. On Aug . 13, he will join the entertainment law firm of Mayer, Katz, Baker & Liebowitz. At press time, it was still uncertain who would assume Reinert's varied duties. Rowe music vice president Joel Fri edman may take over his marketing and promotion roles. We'll have all of the official news in the September issue. ..,.. BETSON NAMED.. . Crompton Machine Co. Ltd . of England has appointed Betson Enterprises its exclusive U.S. distributor. Betson has been a Crompton distributor for six years, but it was not an exclusive arrangement. Those employees who will be transferring will be relocating during August and September. ..,.. HALF CENTURY CLUB MAKING PLANS ... The Half Century Club would like to plan something fun for the AMOA show in New Orleans, perhaps dinner at a nice restaurant or live jazz at Preservation Hall.
