New Orleans Novelty
co-founder dies
Raymond D . Bosworth. co-founder
of New Orleans Novelty with partner
Louis Boasberg. died recently in New
Orleans.
Boasberg and Bosworth, nick-
named B&B by friends, met in 1927
when they attended high school
together. As sophomores at rival uni-
versities in New Orleans (Bosworth at
Loyola and Boasberg at Tulane) the
two put some used games on location.
By the time they graduated they had
built up an extensive operation.
They named their operating com-
pany New Orleans Novelty in 1932,
and the company remains successful
today with Boasberg at its head.
"We started out operating penny
counter machines." Boasberg said.
" Our first pinball purchase was
Gottlieb's Big Broadcast. The rest is
coin-machine history."
Bosworth, who sold his interest in
the company years ago, is survived by
his wife Jane and three daughters. His
daughter Shiela Bosworth wrote the
best-selling novel Almost Innocent. •

Margold vice president of sales. Mar-
gold has more than 10 years of expe-
rience in the coin-op amusement busi-
ness, eight of those in distributing. He
previously was with Bally Manufac-
turing and Bally Distributing.
Margold recently moved from Phil-
adelphia to Chicago to head up Bally
Midwest. which subsequently was
