Pinball Action
Turbo Sub
Entertainment Sciences has an-
nounced Turbo Sub, a 3-D undersea
driving/shooting adventure game.
Turbo Sub players pilot a futuristic
submarine on a journey in which it
encounters alien creatures.
Turbo Sub has seven scenes, the
last marking the end of the game.
More than 400 images and animation
are used to create submarine atmo-
sphere. Average play time is two
minutes when first installed at a
location and three minutes as players
become skilled.
In the first scene, which is above
water, players are awarded 10,000
points for each alien saucer destroyed
or 1 million points for destroying all36
saucers. For the second round only, a
time counter is enacted, and 5,000
points are awarded for each count. A
bonus screen is displayed at the end of
each round.
Operator options include selecting
the number of "subs" or "neutral-
izers" that can adjust difficulty set-
tings, independent volume settings for
attract and game-play modes, and a
game-replay option enabled only for
the first scene .
Turbo Sub can be updated easily
with another high-resolution game,
Bouncer, soon to be released. For

Tehkan, Inc., has announced Pin-
ball Action, a four-field video-pinball
conversion kit. Four animated play-
fields and sound effects give pinball
realism. Players can shake the play-
field and control play by using left and
right flipper buttons.
Pinball A ction features red, green,
blue, and main screens. Slot action
appears on the red screen. Players
turn the slot with a spinning target,
and when the same pictures appear,
the screen is cleared, awarding an
extra chance. Players then complete
three bars for another extra chance
and three sevens for a special chance .
On the green bowling-action
screen, passing the ball over the ten-
pin button awards a strike. Three
strikes clear the screen, providing an
extra chance. Players enter the ball
into the upper right return hole to
return the "green to the main screen.
Poker action is on the blue screen.
Players aim at a drop target that has a
flickering lamp. By completing a com-
bination of five winning hands, they
clear the blue screen and get an extra
chance. Dropping all drop targets in
each color opens a warp-hole gate.
Pinball Action comes with a PCB,
an F.C.C. metal cage, a wiring har-
ness, a pinball-type control panel, a
marquee, a control-panel overlay, side
decals, a monitor decal, instruction
cards, a technical service manual , and
a new game plexi.

introduced the Audix 2000 jukebox-

selections with three to nine seconds
between selections (an optional third
player adds an hour). To promote
play, it randomly selects and plays
when not in use. An optional relay
controller for background music and
paging systems is available. A dollar-
