Expo offers low cost badge
An "exhibit only" badge will be
issued to people interested in seeing
just the exhibits during the Play Meter
Amusement Operators Expo set for
March 20 - 22 at the Fairmont Hotel
in New Orleans.
The badge, which will cost $10,
will not entitle the bearer to be
admitted to any event other than the
exhibit area.
And . in response to numerous
inquiries. wives and children of
registered attendees will be issued
free passes , also for the exhibit area
only.
" o much of the information at
Expo will be in the form of the 140
_Joths filled with a wide variety of
exhibitors . The 'ex hibit only' badge is
certainly the answer for the person
who simolv doesn't have the time to
attend both seminars and exhibit
hall ." Anthony Scalisi , a member
of the Conference Management
Corporation team , organizers of the
show. reported .
" And the exhibit hall is certainly an
exciting program in and of itself." he
added.
Distributors recently were sent
Expo brochures to be mailed to
customer operators for in -store
display . For every twenty registra -
tions stamped with the distributor's
name that operators send in to
Conference Management Corpora-
tion , the show's organizers, the
distributor will be awarded one free
ticket for the show and compliment-
ary lodging .
" Distributors are encouraged to
participate as well as to involve their
key clients." Dave Karcher of
Conference Management Corpora -
tion noted. "We feel tht distributors
have the unique advantage of
lending support to the major annual
event
within
the
amusement
industry ."
The show offers over twenty
seminars with something for every-
one. The faculty, which presents
impressive industry credentials . will
provide practical education
for
e.veryone in the coin -op business.
Everything from creative marketing
to
profitable
distributorship
to
troubleshooting techniques will be
covered in the three -day seri es .
One of the high points of the show
is th e ex hibit hall. where extensive
displays o f equipment, products , and
ervices will be open for touring
between 11:30 a.m . and 6 p .m .
daily.
A s many as six seminar-work-
shops may be attended during the
three -day period. Morning sessions
will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m., with
afternoon sessions beginning at 2
p .m . and ending at 3:30 p .m .
The price of $35 which may be
paid in advance or at the door,
covers convention registration and
one seminar or workshop of the
registrant's choice. Additi onal work-
Survey deadline March 3
Operators who have not returned
the survey questionnaires mailed to
th em by Peat , Marwick , Mitchell and
Company are urged to do so before
February 27 . The form must be in
th eir hands no later than March 3.
The company, which is one of the
largest independent auditing and
survey firms in the country, will
determine operator revenue .
The small but representative
sample includes both music and
game operators. as well as non-
AMOA members .
