"It's 'Phantom-tastic"" That's the
way Stan Jarocki director of market-
ing for Midway Manufacturing Com-
pany, describes the new Phantom II
video game just released .
Players can maneuver the Phan-
tom in realistic flight patterns to battle
and destroy bandit enemy planes. A
press of the trigger fires missiles with
authentic sound for on target hits.
Adversaries seek cloud cover , and
the Phantom turns on radar to reveal
their position .
Bonus pOints are scored for radar
screen hits. If the Phantom flyer is
hit. he is ejected and parachutes to
safety for another chance to fly
again .
A unique feature of the Phantom
Il is the posting of three top games on
the screen . Not just scores, but
players add their own initials for
"Legend ," " Ace," and "Expert" to
invite competition in the single player
game .
Extended play and game time is
adjustable . Th e cabinet measures
67 inches high , 27 inches deep
and 27 inches wide .
The game features Midway's 23
inch first line monitor, double coin
chutes and dependable microproces-
sor with built -in rom -ram testing .

" It's an incredible game, " said
Tom Herrick , Gottlieb marketing vice
president . in describing the com -
pany's new four-player solid state
pinball game, The Incredible Hulk . It
would be hard to find a more timely
or topical theme for a flipper game in
the fall of 1979. Marvel's famous
comic book character has a steady
following of millions of Americans
and the television show of the same
name has continuously been in the
top ten ."
The backglass artwork framed in
rich magenta features a series of
illustrations transforming man to
beast. And the new Gottlieb tailor-
ed sounds offer the operator the
choice of arcade sounds or a musical
Bach -like cascade of notes with each
playfield contact.
The game's new "spotting" feature
in connection with four top roll overs
can advance the bonus multiplier
two. three , four and five times .
Hitting all seven drop targets lights
the "c" in the a-b-c feature . When the
player combines the a and b ball
shooters with knocking down the set
of drop tar~ets , it adds a 5 ,000 point
bonus and lights the special. Also ,
three stationary targets are featured .
Hit all three and the extra ball
rollover is lighted .
