A national pinball championship
which would take in arcades from all
across the co untry and pingames
from all the leading manufacturers
may be in the offing for 19 O.
Jules M illman of Aladdin 's Castle
told PLAY METER recentl y that he
had already contacted all the major
U . . pinball manufacturers (inclu-
ding Bally . Gottlieb , Williams, tern,
and Atari) and that "a ll of them
expressed interest in being part of
such a promotion ."
Last year Bally Manufacturing and
Aladdin 's Castles. a subsidiary of
Bally , taged the Bally uper hooter
contest. It was billed as the national
pinball championship tournament
and drew extensive national media
attention . In an attempt to open up
th e comp tition . Millman said. Bally
and Aladdin's Castles had already
begun actively soliciting oth r manu -
facturer and arcade operat ors to
participate .
Millm an said that present plans
called for the establishment of a
pinball con test association which
would take out a booth at the AMOA
how in Chicago and at the
I.A .A .P A. Show in N w Orl ans .
M illman said that the type o f
arcades that would b eligible to
participat in the competi tion would
be "any cI an. well -run arcade that
has a full -time attendant on duty ."
H added that the arcade must hav
at least thirty pieces of equipment.
Arcade op rators interested in learn -

One of th purpo es of stablish-

national tournam nt. said Millman ,
would be to attract attention to the
fact that pinball is a game of skill and
