"Tin Lizzie" as applied to the
Model "T" Ford . You would hardly
refer to the lincoln Continental as a
"Tin Lizzie" . The same applies to
the progress made in the automatic
phonograph business.

I'd like to clarify a statement
made in the August issue.
In the interview article "Tilt! The
Man Who Gave It To Us," Mr.
Williams incorrectly states on page
46 that now "there's no Mills .. . no
Jennings. "
Perhaps Mr . Williams means that
these two companies are no longer
in Chicago ... for they are very much
in existence!
The TJM Corporation acquired
the a .D . Jennings Co . in 1954,
Mills Bell ·a·Matic Co . in 1963, and
J .H . Keeney & Co. in 1964 . The
TJM Corporation, in turn , is a
subsidiary of the larger Elgin,
Illinois based holding company,
American Machine & Science Inc .
All three slot machines are now
manufactured in the TJM factory in
Reno , Nevada. Keeney is the trade
name used for console ·type ma o
chines . Mills is the name we use on
our mechanical machines .. . still
supplied for some parts of Nevada
and the world markets . And approx ·
imately six months ago we in·
troduced our new , fully electronic
(integrated circuitry) Jennings slot
machine .
