American Piano Corp. lo Close
(bickering Store in Boston
Clarence M. Pettit, Vice President,
in charge of retail operations of the
American Piano Corp., New York an-
nounces the closing of the Chickering
& Sons retail store in Boston, Mass,
as soon as the sale of merchandise
and fixtures is completed.
"The reasons for this move are two
fold," said Mr. Pettit. First for a num-
ber of years local dealers have wanted
the dealer franchise for the Chickering
and Mason & Hamlin pianos. Second,
with the expansion of retail outlets in
the New York Metropolitan area, the
investment in the Boston store can be
put to good use there as it is planned
to further expand with other small
stores in the Metropolian area where
administration of the business can be
accomplished practically by telephone
and trips of no more than one hour
duration."
