Announcement has been made by Dr.
Ashley Manning, head of Manning's
Big Red Top Piano Shop in Los An-
geles, Cal. of the appointment of Carl
Tamm as piano manager of that or-
ganization.
Mr. Tamm for many years traveled
for the Rudolph Wurlitzer Co. as well
serving in their retail stores in Chi-
cago, Kansas City and Cincinnati, be-
came manager of the Wurlitzer store in
Louisville and later manager of Chick-
ering & Sons in Boston, up until the
time the Chickering store was closed.
Frank Higby has opened a new store
at Charlotte. Mich., and will handle all
types of musical instruments.

DEAN R. CANNON
nounced the appointment of Dean R.
Cannon as Western District Service
Manager for Wurlitzer Organs. Mr.
Cannon's territory will include the
states of Washington, Oregon, Cali-
fornia. Nevada. Utah, Arizona, New
Mexico. Colorado. Wyoming, Idaho and
Montana.
In announcing this appointment, Mr.
Rosa stressed the importance of trained
technicians to the music business in
general.
"Its an old saying, and a true one,"
said Mr. Rosa, "that the music business
is built on Service. Service to the
Dealer: Service to the customer. We're
interested in both—that's why we main-
tain a staff of highly skilled and
trained District Service Managers."
Dean Cannon, a native of Salt Lake
City. Utah, is a graduate of the Uni-
versity of Utah, majoring in 'Electrical
Engineering.. Before joining Wurlitzer
in April. 1953. he was a partner in his
own retail store in Salt Lake City, sell-
ing Wurlitzer Organs and maintaining
a complete Electronic Equipment Serv-
ice Center. He also served as Broadcast
Engineer for Station KSL-TV Salt Lake
City.
He is already known and respected
by many Wurlitzer Organ Dealers in
his territory, and brings to his posi-
tion a measure of character, ability and
background that will serve him well
in all of his contacts.
Mr. Cannon lives at 1033 West Sev-
enth North. Salt Lake City, Utah.
