Bill Finnegan Appointed
Birkel-Richardson Piano Mgr.
The Birkel Richardson Co., Los An-
geles, Cal., announces the appointment
of Bill Finnegan, as manager of their
Werlein Ltd. and also a director of the
National Association of Music Mer-
chants.
Ohio Association to Hold
Convention in Cleveland
The annual convention of the Music
Merchants Association of Ohio will be
held at the Wade Park Manor Hotel
in Cleveland, Ohio on May 25th, 26th
and 27th. This decision was made at the
mid-year meeting of the association
which was held in Columbus, Ohio on
January 20th.

known to the piano trade in Southern
California, as he not only operated his
own store in Glendale, Cal., but has
been associated with some of the lead-
ing piano firms in Los Angeles, and for
many years has had the distinction of
being "top flight" man.
Parker Harris Heads
Summer Pops Concerts, Inc.
The board of directors of Summer
Pops Concerts. Inc.. New Orleans, La.,
elected Parker M. Harris president at
a recent meeting in the National Bank
of Commerce Bldg.
Leon Godchaux, Jr., president during
the organization's first nine years, was
recognized for his service and given the
title of honorary president.
Elected vice presidents were Irwin
Poche, Mrs. Benedict M. Grunewald,
Wallace Davis and Irwin Isaacs, Jr.,
Mrs. J. C. Rathborne was elected secre-
tary and Herbert C. Parker, Sr., was
reelected treasurer.
Last season was the most successful
in the history of the organization, the
retiring president said. Concerts in
Beauregard Square were well attended,
and guarantors were called upon to
contribute only 15 per cent of the
amount they underwrote to finance the
season.
Mrs. Chester Mehurin and Mrs. Rob-
ert Laird were elected to the board.

This will be the 41st annual meeting
of the association. For the first time,
however, there will be no exhibits. How-
ever, those who have exhibited in
recent years will be given an oppor-
tunity of showing some of their mer-
chandise and entertaining people who
attend the convention with a cocktail
party. The usual golf tournament will
be held, open only to members in good
standing. No outsider shall play or be
permitted to win prizes. A motion was
made and passed that Otto B. Heaton
should invite Howard Beasley of Dallas,
Texas as a past president of the
N.A.M.M. to address the annual ban-
quet on Sunday evening, May 25th.
