Jesse French Sales Staff
Sees New 1952 Models
Two new spinet models were intro-
duced to members of Jesse French Sons
sales force and six traveling representa-
tives at the annual sales meeting of the
TWO NEW FRENCH & SONS
1952 MODELS
company in the Jesse French plant at
New Castle, Ind., last month.
The salesmen witnessed the actual
construction of the various models dur-
ing a tour of the factory and then heard
each model played. Various design and
construction features were thoroughly
explained by Owen S. Parrish, Jesse
French vice president and general man-
ager, Jay Markley, production super-
intendent, and Delbert Cline, develop-
ment engineer. The sales features of
each model were brought out by Jack
Feddersen, executive vice-president,
and L. A. "Slim" Knowles, territory
manager. The 1952 national advertis-
ing and sales promotion programs on
the new models—as well as the com-
plete Jesse French line of 40-inch con-
soles and 5' 2 " grand—were outlined
by Leon Lewis of Cruttenden and Eger
of Chicago, advertising agency for Jesse
French and Selmer.
The new pianos for 1952 are two
36-inch spinets. They are to be market-
ed at new prices, somewhat below 1951
Jesse French prices.
They are known as the Legend and
the Crescendo — and have the Jesse
French Ori-Coustic Tone, Perma-Crown
sounding board, seven-ply pin plank,
Magic-Touch overhead leverage action,
sustaining bass pedal and many other
features.
The Legend model is available in
either Mahogany finish or Bleached
Mahogany. The Crescendo is offered
only in a blond finish with vinylized
covering. The company claims that
this covering is proofed for maximum
resistance to stains, alcohol, water,
grease, perspiration, scuffing or abra-
sion and that can easily be cleaned
with soap or water or any other ordin-
ary household cleaner.
10 Blond Kimball Pianos
In New La Grange, III. School
"Best school music department in the
state, if not the nation!" is the claim
of La Grange, 111., citizens. Not only
do the music rooms in the high school
and junior college offer the very new-
est, and most complete equipment, but
the music department itself is one of the
largest in the country.
Ten new Kimball studio pianos, in
blond mahogany, stand in the music
rooms ready for piano practice, or to
provide accompaniment. Director of
Music is Clarence F. Dissinger, shown
in the accompanying illustration, seat-
ed at one of the new Kimballs during

the school's "Open House". Beside him
is T. H. Krumwiede of the W. W. Kim-
ball Co.. Chicago, III., who negotiated
the sale in behalf of Rolla A. Burke,
manager of Kimball's retail division.
Serving for the school in this important
purchase was Ralph E. Elliott.
The new Leonard H. Vaughan build-
ing, represents in every detail the most
advanced ideas in school construction
and equipment. A complete radio sta-
tion studio and control room; separate
rehearsal halls for orchestra, band,
choir, and glee club; a series of prac-
tice rooms with intercommunications
throughout; dressing rooms; cedar
closets for uniform storage; a separate
music appreciation library for all stud-
ents; and offices for the music depart-
ment staff are all important parts of the
project.
