Large Attendance at NAMM Convention
In Spite of Government Material Controls

HE 50th Anniversary Convention
of the National Association of
Music Merchants was held in Chi-
cago at the Palmer House on July 16th
to 19th with an attendance reported to
have been slightly less than the 8,000
plus that attended the Convention there
last year.
The meeting of the Directors of
N.A.M.M.. which was held after the
Godfrey of the Williams Piano Co.,
Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Some 200 exhibits opened up on
Monday. July 16th, at 9 o'clock and
visitors commenced to appear early that
morning. At ]() A.M. there was an
N.A.M.M. Press Conference and at 12
Noon the Golden Anniversary Lunch-

annual meeting on Tuesday, culminated
in the reelection of Ray S. Erlandson,
Vice-President of the San Antonio Mu-
sic Co.. San Antonio, Tex. as President,
and Harry E. Callaway, Vice-President
of the Thearle Music Co. in San Diego,
Calif, as Vice-President. Owing to the
untimely death of Gene Redewill, who
was Secretary last year, Tom Holland
of Glen Bros. Music Co., Salt Lake
City, Utah, was elected Secretary and

Ben F. Duvall of W. W. Kimball Co.,
Chicago, was elected Treasurer to suc-
ceed Russell B. Wells. William R. Card
was reelected as the Executive Secre-
tary.
The new Directors who were elected
at the annual meeting on Tuesday
