Propose Membership Code
For Ohio Association
At the mid-year meeting of the Music
Merchants Association of Ohio, held
on January 14th last, Charles R. Dow-
ling, chairman of the Code and Ethics
Committee, suggested "an Ohio mem-
bership code" in which the resolution
calls for every member of the Music
Merchants Association of Ohio to be
classified as a wholesaler or a retailer,
and that failure to obey the said mem-
bership code by any member shall sub-
ject such offending member to the disci-
pline of suspension or expulsion as pro-
vided in the constitution bylaws of the
association.
The membership code then defines a
musical merchandise retailer and also a
musical merchandise wholesaler, and
under the heading of "Conduct of Mem-
bers" it states:
"Every member of the Music Mer-
chants Association of Ohio by accepting
and remaining a member thereof agrees
to observe and abide by the Trade
Practice Rules for the Musical Instru-
ment and Accessories Industry as prom-
ulgated by the Federal Trade Commis-
sion of the United States of America,
including among other things the fol-
lowing:—

his products. (Rule 1)
