Member of Fraternity
The National Piano Travelers Asso-
ciation held its mid-year meeting at the
Hotel Statler in Washington, D. C, on
February 6th. The Secretary and Treas-
urer's reports were unanimously ac-
cepted and it was voted to proceed as
usual in planning for the annual Jam-
boree of the Association, which will take
place on the Monday night of the con-
vention which will be held in Chicago
at the Palmer House from July 16th to
19th inclusive.
The annual meeting of the Association
will be held at 4 P.M. on Sunday after-
noon, July 15th, atid the banquet and
Jamboree will be held in the grand
ballroom of the Palmer House on the
evening of July 16th. The following
committee was appointed by President
Henry G. Behning to take care of the
arrangements for the Jamboree: Howard
dishing. Steinvvay & Sons, Chairman:
Robert H. Johnson, Jr., Schaff Piano
String Co., Edward Vogt, Chicago.
Harry Williams, and W. H. Bowles.
Story & Clark Piano Co.
William C. Heaton. Pacific Coast rep-
resentative for Kohler & Campbell, Inc..
was appointed chairman of the Nomi-
nating Committee with the power to
name his associates to present a new
slate of officers at the annual meeting.
The resolution which was passed at
the annual meeting last year directing
the Executive Secretary to send 5 tickets
for the Jamboree to each member, ask-
ing that they dispose of these tickets was
rescinded.
At the recent opening of the new J & J
Music Shoppe in Grand Rapids, Mich., a
J. M. Wylie of Eargo, N. D., president
of the J. M. Wylie Piano Co., with stores
in Fargo, Minneapolis and St. Paul, has
been made an honorary member of Phi
Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of Amer-
ica, the only nationwide professional
music fraternity.
Delta Chi chapter at the Minneapolis
College of Music formally presented
him with the honor recently. A dinner
was held in the Curtis hotel, followed
by initiation ceremonies in the audito-
rium of the Minneapolis College of
Music.
The fraternity was founded in 1898
and now numbers 116 chapters in the
leading schools and universities. Its pur-
pose is to promote the development and
performance of American music and
foster a greater understanding of all
music.

the two of them stood behind an elabo-
rate cake on top of which was baked a
piano, the cake was supplied by Clare E.
Hemple of the Sunshine Pastries.
