Gaverich.
Among those present were Julius White,
Gustave Behning, William H. Bowles, E.
E. Vidand, A. W. Johnston, Herbert Simp-
son, William A. Mennie, Carleton Chaco
and others.
William J. Keeley for many Y ear s ac *
tive in the player division of the piano
industry but retired since 1925 passed
away at his home on Riverside Drive,
New York August 25th after a lingering
illness.
Mr. Keeley started his career in the>
music industry as a clerk in the music
department of Sherman Clay & Co. in
San Francisco. Later he came east and
entered the employ of the Wilcox <& White
Co. in Meridan, Conn. While there he
became acquainted with Charles Kohler
and later with Thomas Danquard devel-
oped a player action which -was used in
the Autopiano manufactured by the then
newly formed Autopiano Co. Later when
it was decided to make player actions for
the trade he became president of the
Auto Pneumatic Action Co. a position hfc

held many years and of which he be-
came a substantial stockholder as well
as in the Standard Pneumatic Action Co. sociation. At the time of his death he
was in his late seventies.
He is survived by a widow, Grace Burr
Hamilton, his second wife. Funeral serv-

Brooks Mays Passes Away
Brooks Mays, prominent Dallas, Texas
piano man and head of Brooks Mays &
Co., passed away after a lingering illness
on August 8th at the age of 71.
