which, when installed on the sound board
of a piano will permit uniform amplifica-

right, and played through a home radio
set. No changes in the piano are neces-
sary. It can be used on old as well as new
pianos.
The Kontak unit is attached to the
sound board of any standard upright or
grand piano. It is placed at approxi-
mately the center of the piano—the exact
point is not very critical. A good speaker
is essential. — one that has at least 15
•watts output, preferably 20 watts, and at
least 12"—can carry at least 15 watts and
housed in a baffle or case which is at
least 18 x 24" and approximately 10"
deep. The larger the baffle the better the
reproduction.
A footpedal can. also be used along
with the Amperite Kontak microphone to
obtain volume variations and novel effects.
The quality obtainable with the Amper-
ite Kontak microphone depends only on
the quality of the amplifier with which it
is used and the quality of the speaker.
Perfect reproduction over the entire range
is obtained with the Amperite Kontak
microphdhe itself.
When an Amperite Kontak microphone
is put on the piano, when played with an
orchestra, it is claimed that the whole
balance of the orchestra is improved.
