SHIOCTON, WIS.—More than 2,000 persons at-
tended the dedication of a memorial tablet to
F.ben E. Rexford, author of "Silver Threads
Among the Gold." The principal speaker at the
dedication was Dr. Silas Evans, president of
Ripoh College. H« lauded Rexford as a pro-
ponent of true literature. The memorial tablet
was unveiled by Frank Spencer of Appleton, a
grandnephew of Rexford. Rexford was born in
Johnsburg, N. Y., in 1848. He came to Shiocton
about 1855 and while a student at Lawrence
